TheHoob
We still have to remember that Cabaye was perfectly entitled to buy out his contract in the summer for a quarter of the price if he wanted to go to PSG, so it is a good time to sell unfortunately. That never f***ing happens man Jonas Gutierrez. Aye which lead to a 2 year court case and compensation paid out way and above the original cost, you mug. That's why it never happens. It's not as easy as him just deciding he's offski. This has been the worst rumour in a while like, all fueled by the absolutely appaling sports journalism we have here. James
It also never happens because players usually get their way when they want to move. Too true. He got the move he wanted. Good riddance, he left Lille saying he needed a new challenge, then two and a half years later he is going back to his old challenge. very good player, turd mentality. Now let's move on and see what the future holds, it might be good, it might be bad, but no point looking back because Cabaye has fucked his own precious career up for the money. Stuy_O
Julian Laurens started that stuff off, and he's gone down in my estimation since. Seems a right little attention seeker. You would have to be pretty desperate to buy out 2 years of your deal to get away. And like mentioned before, it hardly seems a simple affair to carry it out. AyeDubbleYoo
Did he just say Cabaye would be able to buy himself out, or did he say he was actually planning to do it?
James
I certainly said could rather than would. It is the point at which valuations can decline as player commitment becomes more uncertain.
Stuy_O
Did he just say Cabaye would be able to buy himself out, or did he say he was actually planning to do it? He said we would be wise to cash in now due to his 'stability clause'. He then got a torrent of abuse similar to above actually. He did an interview with Cabaye and Debuchy a few weeks ago on BT, seemed very palsy with them. Made me wonder if the comments regarding Cabaye showed they were in cahoots and something had been said to him. Still seems hugely unlikely though, purely because of the fuck on it would going through court and that.

David Icke - Son of God
The Webster stuff is a sad indictment on the standard of journalism in this country. They basically ripped off Julien Laurens' tweets, who had no idea of the Webster ruling as it currently stands.

Tiresias
Magnificent player for us, and I don't blame him for jumping ship from this ambition-less circus of a club, even if it is to a tacky newly rich club where he will probably look mediocre. He should have had a team that could at the very least be challenging for the champions league built around him, but even though he didn't he has been absolutely top class for us, sadly he has left before he could really make a mark, he has had 1 great season, 1 poor one and half a magnificent one. He has run riot over most teams in the league, and has looked best imo when he has completely dominated an inadequate man united team a few times now, playing without fear, grabbing the game by the bollocks and looking technically masterful too. He did go on strike, which does count against him, but he didn't strop long and went about his business this season in a manner few can have complaints with. I wish we the ambition to match is and we could enjoy him for another season or two. As it is this is a reminder that we cannot, and will not keep any player of top quality but be a shop window for them. We will never achieve anything until Mike Ashley sells the club, there is so little to look forward too anymore about the club. Thanks Cabaye, came to us a mid table team just out the championship with a lot of players not quite up to it and he nearly got us to the champions league, so nearly matched what he wanted. I wasn't angry to miss out when we finished 5th, but then our ambition stalled and he has every right to be let down. Good bye dreamboat and thanks for the memories.
