Sifu
January is going to be one hell of a month without him Need someone to start scoring goals as well as Ba........howay Leon! Tbf, as much as I like Leon I dont think he could hit a barn door. When Ba does go to the ACoN, I'm expecting to see Best upfront on his own with Ben Arfa behind in the number 10. So we really do need Best to rediscover his goalscoring form sooner rather than later.

Yep, there's really no-one else. I'm definitely not trusting Shola to score the goals when Ba's away. Concerning the latter part of your post, there's the FA Cup game against Blackburn...... Cheshire Mag
Tbh, buying a centre back should go without saying. Still reckon we need another striker to take some of the pressure off Ba every week. I have a sneaky suspicion that we will go after Maynard considering his contract status in January. Sifu
Wonder what our back up plan for Maiga is?? Giroud is another target, apparently he has a release clause of 10 million euros. I think it's a reasonable fee so I hope Ashley goes for it.... But first thing's first, we need a CB!
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
We won't sign anyone in January imo. Striker on a free in the summer.
Skirge
Sure Pards said both Demba & Tiote would be here until Jan 15th then off to the ACN.

Guest thenorthumbrian
If we got the right offer the owners would sell Ba without a seconds hesitation .
Sifu
Shola getting a run of games Our strikeforce (forwards) when Ba goes to the ACoN = Best, Ben Arfa, Shola, Sammy, Lovenkrands [i've put Ben Arfa in there as he will be integral/key to our forward play when Ba's gone even though he's not a proper striker]

Dave
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Newcastle-striker-Demba-Ba-not-insists-no-need-to-panic-as-side-have-quality-to-ride-out-blip-article845737.html Demba Ba insists there’s no need to panic despite the nightmare run that threatens to derail Newcastle’s season. Troubled Toon are in freefall after the 3-2 defeat at home to West Brom left them with just two points from the last six games to undo much of their good work in the first three months of the campaign, when they enjoyed an impressive 11-game unbeaten start. Despite dropping off the pace during their frustrating seven-week winless run, 13-goal top scorer Ba insists Alan Pardew’s men must take the positives from what has still been a fruitful first half of the season ahead of the Boxing Day trip to struggling Bolton. The Senegal star has been one of the major plusses so far, grabbing more than half his side’s goals - including their last five - since a summer switch from West Ham. He insists things are far from gloomy going into Christmas in seventh spot, and he said: “I’m not really worried when I look at this team, because of the spirit we have, the chances we create and the amount of bad fortune we’ve had. “We have to stay realistic. It’s only our second season back in the Premier League. If at the start of the season you’d said at this stage we’d have 27 points from 17 games most people would have been happy.” The prolific 26-year-old adds to Toon’s woes next month when he heads off on African Cup of Nations duty to leave a big gap in their attack, with his Toon team-mates having stumped up just 10 top flight goals between them so far this term. He added: “I hope everyone stays behind us because I don’t think we’re doing too bad. If we’d started the season in the way we’ve played in the last six games then went 11 games unbeaten, everybody would be happy. We’re just going to continue what we have been doing. I don’t think we’re playing badly.” Have to say, as annoyed as I am about the run of results at least we've been creating and scoring goals. Even if they're all coming from Ba. Better that that not creating anything.
midds
How far are Senegal likely to go in the ACN? The sooner the're knocked out the better.
binnsy
How far are Senegal likely to go in the ACN? The sooner the're knocked out the better. knowing our luck they'll probably go all the way to the final and play the Ivory Coast and Ba get clattered by Tiote with the impact injuring both of them.... Disco
How far are Senegal likely to go in the ACN? The sooner the're knocked out the better. Won their group (Cameroon, DR Congo and Mauritius) so can't be too shabby. Only dropped 2 points too.
