Skirge
EXCLUSIVE: £10m Ba bill! Star striker Demba can leave Newcastle for bargain fee By NEIL ASHTON Last updated at 10:45 PM on 6th January 2012 Demba Ba has put England's top clubs on red alert when it emerged he has a £10million release clause in his Newcastle contract. Ba has stunned the Barclays Premier League after scoring 15 goals for Alan Pardew's side since his summer move from West Ham. The Senegal striker negotiated the clause when he signed a three-year deal worth £40,000 a week after quitting Upton Park following their relegation. Ba, who is the Premier League's second top scorer behind Robin van Persie, was named Barclays Player of the Month for December. New Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill won the manager's award. Ba confirmed his class when he scored the first goal in Newcastle's 3-0 demolition of champions Manchester United on Wednesday. The 26-year-old arrived in England after quitting German club Hoffenheim last January and was a popular figure with West Ham fans during their failed bid to stay in the Premier League. He signed for Newcastle in the summer, but has now left the country to play in the Africa Cup of Nations with club-mate Cheick Tiote, who will star for the Ivory Coast. Inspirational: Ba scored as Newcastle beat Manchester United this week There have been long-standing fears over an injury to his right leg that Ba first sustained with Belgian club Mouscron, but he has regained full mobility. Surgeons hammered a 25cm nail into his leg as part of the operation to save his career and there were fears he would not be able to play again. However, he made a startling recovery, and although he is sometimes in mild discomfort, it has not stopped him becoming one of the most talked about names in Europe. Please don't go: Ba's exit would be a big blow for Alan Pardew (right) Although Newcastle have no intention of allowing Ba to leave, he could trigger the release clause in his contract if a top club matched the figure. He negotiated a similar clause when he moved to West Ham and was able to quit on a free transfer when they were relegated to the Championship. Meanwhile, ITV4 have announced they will cover the Africa Cup of Nations with a combined package of highlights and live coverage of one quarter-final, one semi-final and the final. David Icke - Son of God
It's went up by £3 million since lunch time. Anyway, how does insurance factor into this? Am I right in thinking all clubs take it out on their players in case of career ending injury? Surely if Ba's knee is as bad as we're told £10 million plus the insurance would put off all but the very top clubs?

The Prophet
Exclusive: Ba-d news for Magpies! Demba Ba has top clubs on alert as it emerged he can leave the Magpies on a free should a club finishing above his team demand his services. Ba, second only to Robin Van Persie in the race for the Premier League ate a pork chop for tea with a side of mash and steamed vegtables. He washed this down with a class of red. Ba who is currently taking part in the African Cup of Nations also enjoys taking long strolls on the beach and relaxing bubble baths. Magpies chief Alan Pardew is bracing himself for crisis talks with the hitman later this month. It is thought the clause was inserted in his contract as he and Thomas Hitzlsperger were offered similar clauses in their contracts when signing for sinking ship, West Ham. Dave
It could possibly be argued by the ultra-cynical that the club have leaked this as they're hoping to sell him for big money (ie as an excuse should they do so), but £7-10m isn't anywhere near big enough for that to make sense. I just can't believe we'd accept something this low, even if Ba or his agent insisted on such a clause when we signed him. Problem is that even if the club deny it, it won't stop the talking. You only have to look at tonight's stuff about Wayne Rooney to see that.

JH
MsiDouglas Mark Douglas Will sign off with a bit of context on the Ba story. Very complex deal to get him to #nufc: scores of agents trying to do that deal wouldn't surprise me if one of the agents who didn't strike the deal is now stirring the pot; trying to drum up interest in the player. It's a murky business for sure, but I can't see Ba leaving #nufc in January. Only another 26 days eh?! Also said that he'd heard about unsubstantiated release clause rumours a few weeks ago, and when asked if the he thought the clause existed, said: "I don't know for sure. Seems common knowledge but club don't want to say anything."

Mixed_Bag
If the club insisted on some kind of pay-as-you-play deal for Demba when he signed it would make sense for him to negotiate a release clause in his contract. For us it's zero risk if his knee explodes whilst for him it absolutely guarentees that we try and negotiate a new contract if he performs, removing pay-as-you-play and also the release clause, whilst giving him a nice new pay rise. Stu
Media and agents trying to get clubs to spend money. Can't think why It's a shame the decent sports journalists (I'd even include the likes of Nixon and QBG who are working their way up) get drowned out/ignored by this constant barrage of rumour-mongering and shit stirring. The Guardian and The Times are the only ones worth looking at.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
EXCLUSIVE: NEWCASTLE'S BA IN THE UK ILLEGALLY By Henry Ritewingkunt Newcastle United striker Demba Ba is actually living in the UK illegally, it emerged last night. Ba's paperwork claims he was born in France, but he actually entered the UK with his family on a swan-shaped peddleboat from Africa, The Daily Mail can reveal. The boat was shipped to a corrupt country in western Africa by Tyneside-based ganger Paddy Conroy after it was stolen from Saltwell Park. Ba and his family gave up their occupation of selling watches on a nearby beach to make the move to England. Ba had sought asylum from the large cannibalistic Jammie Dodger terrorising some poor part of Africa and the cost of he and his family living in England illegally is estimated to be around £7 billion to each British taxpayer. The Mail also understands that Ba was responsible for killing Princess Diana and shitting on one of the Queen's corgi's. He is also a vehement supporter of the Labour Party and claims to have little time for Margaret Thatcher, the monarchy and fails to understand core British values. The Daily Mail will fight to have Demba Ba extradited immediately.
