The College Dropout
Pardew is safety first and tbf Marv isn't the hardest worker. With the players we have available, someone like 'Arry would look at Marv and see a match winner. Someone with a set of keys to unlock defences. Not our Pards. Dokko
Just play him in the next couple of games, tell him the pressure is off and to go out and show what he can do, then if its a good response he's got a great chance of keeping his place. Stuff like that man, where is it from Pards? I thought he was all about giving people a chance.

Someone made a point about lacking character in the squad which makes me think Jonas should play but he is offering so little at the monent he is basically a long haired Alan Smith. Tiresias
If pards won't play him wide cos of defensive worries he should still start centrally as the playmaker, ridiculous improvement with him on the pitch

Guest loven Mag 11
Watching our team try and break the opposition down when you have Tiote or Simpson make the final pass is disgusting TBH, there were times yesterday we just went from santon to colo to willo to simpson and back again for 10 - 15 passes plus, without ever actually moving forwards. Marv comes on and what do you know, he literally carries us to the edge of their box and plays some neat passing and by some crazy coincidence we actually scored shortly after he came on. When we get Cabaye and Hatem back, a 4-3-3 of Anita, Cabaye and Tiote, with Hatem, Papiss and Marv upto would be like watching a different fucking team play. At the moment it gives me a headache watching this team play with no creativity.
Ryan_Taylor
Shouldn't be anything keeping him out of the team now. No excuse for it really
Chase
My worry is he'll be given the next game or the one after to prove himself and when we fail against Utd and Arsenal then Pardew can say he gave him a shout but it didn't work.

Definately, and a fucking shame. I reckon playing him in more games lately could have earned us a few more points. Noticed lately how a couple of the players have been bigging him up as well. Shola and Mehdi Abeid most notably. I think they see what he brings to the team when used properly.

Tiresias
He doesn't want to bench Guti cos he's one of his on pitch lieutenants, he likes his work rate and possibly not to p*ss off his best mate Colo. Shame how he's playing doesn't seem to factor in
David Icke - Son of God
I think Pardew doesn't want to sacrifice work rate for flair when we're struggling, particularly a flair player who is still finding his feet.
Lotus
Pardew, quite rightly, is more mindful of what a player can do without the ball then with it. Especially in midfield. He doesn't like us to player through the middle (not 'on the front foot enough') but it's imperative that we limit the opposition's ability to play through the middle. There's not natural place for Marveaux they way we set up.
Disco
Be surprised if Marveaux starts either of the next games but I reckon he will for Everton, definitely strikes me a home player & I'd imagine Pardew will think likewise given his lack of workrate. Legacy
With his comments about cisse not scoring because cabaye and ben arfa are missing it makes it even more stupid that Marveaux hasn't been given a chance.
toontownman
Another tidy performance. Worked hard in the first half to defend. Shocking and frustrating lack of effort to track back in the second when he was moved central. If he can improve this part of his game, along with adding some bust a gut runs into the box (which we are missing from midfield) I think Pards will finally have no option but to start him. Class is there when he turns it on.
