Persistent niggly fouls which ordinarily wouldn't be yellow can (and should IMO) be escalated to bookable offences. Add in that Crisanto was lunging and leaving his foot in a fair bit, could have been done for dissent a few times and had been cautioned for a rubbish tackle only 40 seconds earlier - it's understandable to me.
