loki679
It's clear to me (and this has been confirmed by a bloke from Blyth who delivers borehole accessories to the training ground) that Danny Simpson is the secret lovechild of Colo and Willo and Colo is so upset that we're letting him leave that he's decided to go and farm armadillos in Argentina. You heard it here first.
Guest neesy111
He hasn't got anyone pregnant for f***'s sake, have a word. Just as much chance of that as anything else tbh, would also explain the secrecy. There could be 10's of reasons to keep it all secret.
thenige
We know pretty much nothing of what's actually going on with this, until the facts come out all this speculation is just nonsense really.

Memphis
If it were truly family-related, seems to me speaking publicly would make the most sense. People would sympathise to some extent. His silence is rather telling. So, either the rumours are true or there was an extraordinary falling-out with the manager, far exceeding anything normal. I can't imagine any scenario, including health issues, that would necessitate immediate retirement from football and a move back home, all in the space of a few weeks. Decky
If he decides to call time on his career, realistically what can NUFC do?
Guest strongbow69
as caulkin said , the club wanted to make a statement but couldnt due to possible legal ramifications. That would hold up with the up the duff shennanigans?, also if it was an illness would pardew really say he,s worked with players who have had worse going on like gambling addiction and death in the family?surely not . need agatha christie on this

Decky
If he decides to call time on his career, realistically what can NUFC do? Nowt. And if a few weeks/months down the line he changes his mind and signs for San Lorenzo?
Guest neesy111
If he decides to call time on his career, realistically what can NUFC do? Nowt. And if a few weeks/months down the line he chances his mind and signs for San Lorenzo? Can't. We hold his registration under FIFA rules. Retiring midway through contract doesn't cancel registration. Stuy_O
So after lengthy scrutinising we've deduced that either he can't keep his cock in his pants or he hates Pardew so much he has to retire? The first one sounds more feasible tbf.

And if a few weeks/months down the line he changes his mind and signs for San Lorenzo? As far as I'm aware he wouldn't be allowed to. We hold his registration until the end of the contract. Ikon
So Colo's option is to start playing in the black market league.
Pandamninator
Did it have to be San Lorenzo? Surely one of the larger Argie clubs would've been happy to stump up a little bit of cash as a transfer fee and offer him decent wages for a current Argie international who was just named in the Premier League team of the year? Ketsbaia
Instead of everyone throwing rumours about, I think it's best to just wait and see. There's not enough information to speculate.

San Lorenzo are one of the larger Argie clubs. River/Boca are no less skint, it's a league-wide problem.

Only definite bit of info is that he had a serious falling out with Pardew in the not too distant past.

The point i'm actually trying to make is that I can't for any reason this as anything other than serious domestic issue's (of which we know nothing), which he needs to resolve above all else, and nothing to do with his manager or club. The bloke must be having a terrible time of it, I still don't have this trait in his character and something must seriously be up for it to come to this. B-more Mag
If he has a good reason that people could at least understand, even if not fully supporting his decision, you'd think he'd at least allude to it while keeping details private. Just a really weird situation.
