David Icke - Son of God
Basically swapped someone who we know is not good enough in this league in Routledge for someone with potential, don't see why people are having a massive issue with this Because that's not how the club will see it? Underlying issues wont be addressed beacause Obertan is the new great white hope. Any your sure of that why? Because this is Newcastle United. Coco
Most man utd fans I know wish they kept smith. Not sure if that's good or bad. Most Man Utd fans I know are fucking clueless. Hopefully this guy can be half decent if he gets a few games under his belt. Unfortunately we've reached the stage where anybody signing is a welcome sight... Dave
Have any of the local journos said anything about this rumour yet? @Neilfarrington Neil Farrington Obertan seems to be a goer for #nufc. Would that be an all-French speaking front six? 6 minutes ago

LoveItIfWeBeatU
If it's true and we do sign him it's another 'out of the blue' signing with little or no rumours about it in the media.
Guest Wearside
I think he will be a decent signing for you lot in the long term, wouldn't want to be relying on him as a first choice starter though. I remember when we got Welbeck last summer and about 95% of people were up in arms about it labelling him s*** etc but it's amazing what a run of games does to confidence and Obertan is not as bad as some on here are making out. lovejoy
Man utd fans I've spoken to reckon he could be really good with a run of games. Who would he replace in our first team? Didn't ask them that.
Dave
http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/3355/obertangabriel19308.jpg Probably make a decent smiley if we sign him. What a strange head.

Pointless arguing with that clown, everyone who Newcastle signs is a world beater and everyone Sunderland sign is s*** in his eyes, too bitter for his own good. ponsaelius
Yawn. I judge every footballer I see objectively, I've even said on the last page from what I've seen I don't really rate Obertan. Knacker.
Mick
Mick has a mate who supports Manchester United and sends somewhat less than creative text messages. I am shocked. What was your flatmates response?
Cronky
Come on, he's made a decent point about Welbeck, who looked very ordinary in his cameo appearances for Man U, but a different proposition with a run of first team games. It could well be the same for Obertan.
