Fenham Mag
He would genuinely be a better option than Jonas at the moment. Especially against QPR.

Cajun
Nothing wrong with a manager bigging up his own players in the press to give them a confidence boost. Keegan was the master at it. Obertan seems to be a massive confidence player too.
Smal
“When we don’t have Gabby, it does affect the opposition because when he’s in the team their left-back does not go anywhere. “We’ve had problem with that in recent weeks in terms of the opposition left-back getting into our box and creating goals. If nothing else he will stop that and if Gabby plays as he has done in the European matches, then he will affect the game in a positive manner as well.” Wanting to play certain winger because it stops an opponent's defender from being able to attack. So negative

littlelunchbox
If we have to play 4-5-1/ 4-3-3 I'd still have this meat head outwide rather than one of our strikers like Ba or Cisse
Ronaldo
Strange comments from Pardew there. If that's genuinely what he feels Obertan gives us why didn't he play against Everton to nullify Baines?

Guest malandro
Strange comments from Pardew there. If that's genuinely what he feels Obertan gives us why didn't he play against Everton to nullify Baines? Pardew just says anything. I doubt there's an attacking left back in the division that is scared to push forward because Obertan is playing.
Cajun
Strange comments from Pardew there. If that's genuinely what he feels Obertan gives us why didn't he play against Everton to nullify Baines? Honestly, this is a manger talking about a player in the media. He would claim Bigi was Rudolph if he thought it would bring on his performances.

He would claim Bigi was Rudolph if he thought it would bring on his performances. Honestly, if as you are claiming all he wanted to do is big up Obertan's confidence he would surely talk about him in a more positive light rather than in terms of merely nullifying the opposition fullback. Do you even logic?

Pilko
He was busy, tidy and showed some good workrate and was unlucky with end product a few times. No really frustrating shit as usual which was pleasing.

No really frustrating shit as usual which was pleasing. I've noticed he definitely runs at players more, trying to commit them. I think Pardew mentioned that JC was working on him doing that. Good idea if true or he'll never use his pace to good effect otherwise.
Tiresias
Looked more like his europa league performance self today, kept it simple, used his pace, got some crosses in, no complaints and earned himself more chances. Did more penetrative attacking than any of our players in the first half
AyeDubbleYoo
I think there is a good player there if he can get his mental state consistently right.
