Guest sicko2ndbest
Talk in France of a new €12m #nufc bid on the table for Maiga. His agent "cannot understand" why Sochaux won't discuss a deal. Farrington

Guest sicko2ndbest
http://www.footmercato.net/dossier-maiga-sochaux-contre-attaque_71792 Tired approaches to wild Newcastle Modibo Maiga, FC Sochaux decided to react as stated by its president Alexandre Lacombe in the columns of the Eastern Republican. "Newcastle continue to contact our player despite our refusal. So we will complain to UEFA. And to think that these maneuvers are not fair play. They continue to cause destabilization, "he said. AyeDubbleYoo
Disappointed we're going about the deal like this, if true. Most clubs probably do it, but still.
Guest sicko2ndbest
Nancy. "No, he is not there. He will not play! "Mecha Bazdarevic confirmed the absence of Modibo Maiga new before too long yesterday. Once off the bus to Picot. At that time, the suspense was already closed. Ten small second invitation to Téléfoot morning were enough to Modibo Maiga to restore a vibrant stroke of his fist standoff that pitted him against Sochaux. What was heard from the depths of the deep voice? The player is afraid to miss the opportunity of his life, he has not abandoned the idea of going to play for Newcastle. He sees no reason why especially the president continues to refuse any negotiation. The mechanisms of this kind are known match. There has illustrious precedents in Ligue 1. Maiga but still adds a tab to this very special classic. In his almost childish stubbornness, he dares altogether ignores the game, forgetting for once to fulfill a call of his employer. The reason given is even more lopsided than the first. Maiga excuse this time was a pain in the knee. Without a medical certificate. The player will therefore again be punished. Losing nearly half his monthly salary charged to accumulated errors. Yesterday, President Lacombe has shown little to say on the subject. He skipped all the questions now because the dispute is likely to be brought before the tribunal. Each fault will be watched by both sides! Still determined to close the door to his Malian striker, despite an escalation increased to € 12M over 5 years, the president of the FCSM has just confirmed something that was still up Saturday to the state of threat. "Newcastle continue to contact our player despite our refusal. So we will complain to UEFA. And to think that these maneuvers are not fair play. They continue to cause destabilization ... " Anin's turn! Within the group, the showdown crystallizes into effect on another case. TRon
It doesn't even sound like Sochaux have agreed to sell Maiga. With a week to go you'd think we'd at least have established that we could do a deal at a certain price even if we had to pay a bit more than we'd like. I'm very nervous that we'll lose the deal in last day brinkmanship and end up signing some 2nd rate make do on loan.

toon25
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11661_7117575,00.html I must admit, I took this to mean that our bid had been knocked back and we'd continued to show an interest in the player despite them telling us to fuck off. Who knows though.

Dr Venkman
it's gonna start getting pretty worrying if we haven't brought a striker in before fulham. i can see them just sacking it off and waiting til january, then bringing in someone totally average on loan. jdckelly
What are the possible punishments for a "tapping-up" charge? A fine? Or maybe even a transfer ban? in theory but in reality this is no different to what every other club is up to on transfers, everyone knows the buying club makes its interest known to the players agent and roughly what they're offering (see Carroll back in jan who probably had Liverpool onto him with what they were offering) Can't recall an actual case of "tapping up" that stuck

GM
Based on nothing other than stereotypes, not hot on this. Other than Etoo and Drogba no African striker has looked the real deal to me. Is he a Martins/Gyan/Kalou? Ie an athlete with some skill but no idea how to play football? Appreciate this is a slightly ridiculous post and British strikers can be brainless too, just there is an African "type" of hitman. That George Weah wasn't bad like. You forgot to mention Tony Yeboah. And Daniel Amokachi (but he was shit).

Ridman
If we´re signing an African striker I´d prefer us going for Papiss Cissé. He wouldn´t come cheap and doesn´t play in France so I can´t see it happening but him or Sturridge would be the ideal scenario imo.
