Ikon
When he's fit and has adapted himself to this league i think he'll be great, he's sooo calm on the ball and great in keeping posession, very attacking as well. Looking forward to see him play.

Lush Vlad
Looks like he trained with the first team today Just seen that on the training pics, excellent news. If his knee doesn't flare up again, we really need to get him minutes in another reserve/friendly game, then hopefully get him on the pitch at some point against Wolves, he is also in the Italy U21 squad, so will at least be keeping his match fitness up. Could do with him starting against Spurs and being comfortable in the squad by the time the tough games in November/December come around.

TRon
once you start getting fluid on knee you have problems. draining it helps but will not cure it I don't know much about the medical side of it but at best it seems like they are hoping this will keep Santon going until January. Probably worth a try but the official line is that if it doesn't work he'll go back under the knife. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he lasts anywhere close to that. A pea is large though if it is a dense area where there was originally no pea. the way i read it is theyll probs sort it til the end of the season then let him have the operation, either that or he will play needing an operation like Shola and his hip for like the rest of his career... Wilson
DAVIDE Santon is poised to make his return from a knee injury against Swansea City reserves in south Wales on Wednesday night (7pm). The FA Premier Reserve League fixture takes place at the Parc y Scarlets Stadium, the home of rugby union side Llanelli. Santon was injured two weeks ago in training but saw a specialist last week in London to have the fluid drained from his knee. United boss Alan Pardew revealed after the capital trip he did not feel the former Inter Milan man required surgery. Santon is yet to make his Premier League bow for the Magpies after joining the club on the eve of transfer deadline day from the San Siro club. His only pitch time so far for the Magpies was in the 6-0 reserve-team victory over Norwich City earlier this month at Whitley Park. Santon was due to train today at the club’s Benton base and will join Peter Beardsley’s second string for their trip to take on the Swans. Pardew told the Chronicle: “I think Santon will play at Swansea on Wednesday and we will see from there.” Pardew was a satisfied figure on Saturday afternoon as Hatem Ben Arfa finally made his Premier League return for the Magpies in the 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. Ben Arfa topped up his pitch time with a 16-minute cameo against Rovers after successfully starring in the Carling Cup at Nottingham Forest in midweek. With Sylvain Marveaux also putting in a cameo appearance, Pardew said: “Everybody else looks very, very strong. “We still have Davide Santon to feature as well, so we are in a good position.” It remains to be seen whether out-of-sorts striker Nile Ranger will make the long trip to Swansea. Meanwhile, Shola Ameobi’s absence against Blackburn was due to a shoulder injury.
