AyeDubbleYoo
He's almost brilliant now, he'll be brilliant in the future. He would benefit from playing with a winger who can go outside and provide space, but that's about it IMO. Otherwise just play him and enjoy.
Guest neesy111
Good attacker, utterly hopeless at defending unless with ultra cover. Ball watcher.
madras
Good attacker, utterly hopeless at defending unless with ultra cover. Ball watcher. he's a good defender but he needs cover/support for when he's pushed up. i think the couple of occasions recently of him getting caught out with the ball inside him are naivety. I think personally he's just on the wrong side, hinders him going forward and defensively. Imo would make a blinding right fullback or potentially as he's so good going forward a right winger. Just cause he's played at leftback for us and in the end for inter doesn't mean hes a full back, he was a left winger when Mourinho converted him to a leftback. Guest neesy111
Also if Simpson had put in performances like has done, then his head would had been hung at Castle Keep....
Fenham Mag
He was our most consistent performer until Arsenal, just going through a bad spell but he looks to be coming out of it.
Unlucky Luque
It seems every single shot he has had at goal has been on target since he's joined us. Only a matter of time before one goes in.
The College Dropout
has he had many good games without Jonas?
TRon
I thought he looked more like his old self yesterday. Still can't cross from wide positions but he brought the ball forward well and linked well with the midfield when he cut inside, especially in the first half. Norseman
He's a great player and in 10 or 15 years when he becomes the new Maldini or Facchetti, with 200 or 300 Inter games under his belt, in that moment I'll remember his debut," Mourinho says. "In my view Santon is a right-back who can also play in midfield, principally in the position currently taken by Javier Zanetti. His versatility will be very important in his career. For example, Beppe Bergomi played as a centre-back, on the right or left and now Zanetti can play pretty much anywhere. All this is because they have character and confidence". Mourinho on Santon. Probably been posted before but I just feel its worth reminding ourselves of the potential he still has. http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/29037782.jpg

The College Dropout
Erm, positioning is the hardest and most vital part about being a fullback.

Mole_Toonfan
Apart from the Christmas and New Year period he's been fine. Yeah the whole time Jonas was injured. Rubbish, he's performed well without Jonas and performed poorly without Jonas, the main reason he performed poorly was playing basically 3 games in a week. No coincidence he's been better since he's gone back to playing just once a week.
The College Dropout
I agree he has looked tired but he's been poor since Fulham at least.
AyeDubbleYoo
Fullback is one of the hardest positions in football IMO, the positioning, the amount of pitch to cover and the fitness needed.
Mole_Toonfan
Fullback is one of the hardest positions in football IMO, the positioning, the amount of pitch to cover and the fitness needed. And one of the most important, still shocks me how cheap how fullbacks are despite how a very good one can totally reshape you're team.
Jackie Broon
I'm sure this has been covered already, but it's about 'kin time commentators started to pronounce his name properly. It's Dav-i-day!
