Gallowgate End
I would think Graham Carr has seen a lot of Marvin Martin he watched Maiga for a long time so must of seen the quality of Martin think it was 14 assists he got last season for Sochaux, Demba Ba and Cisse would score even more goals with this guys delivery in the team when ever I have seen him he has played right of a three though could be a perfect addition if Pardew wants to play 4-3-3 next season with Tiote holding Cabaye and Martin either side then Ben Arfa right of Cisse and Ba off the left... wonder how much he would cost though surely he will be very good value if they do get relagated. Think it would depend if he flys under the radar of the rich clubs .. ie. PSG, Spurs, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, FC Bayern ... Agree.. personally think he would suit Arsenal more then anyone perfect for the system they play and it would go someway to replacing the assists that Nasri and Fabregas provided for them in previous years will be interesting to see where Marvin Martin does go this summer will be a great signing for any of the top clubs or even us with his reduced value, young age and quality. Ikon
Debuchy, Douglas/Mbiwa and Belhanda would be a "decent" summer window (and a couple of youngsters for the squad) Three of those are the ones i want the most! Dreaming/dream on..
Mole_Toonfan
Few journo's seem to think Adam Johnson will be getting sold this summer. A few Man City fans i know don't seem overly impressed. Great for the highlights reel, but loses possession an awful lot. Exactly i feel about him, the getting rid of the deadwood point is key imo if we can get rid of the useless shit on high wages, get the overall wage bill down and it will give us more room to manoeuvre without breaking the budget or policy. Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Nah I don't think Johnson is that good either. Wouldn't fit in even if Ba left, he's more effective cutting in from the right and Ben Arfa is better at doing that.

aussiemag
Who was the last player we bought from a Premiership team? Obertan. Imagine if Obertan came good. Ive figured out what his problem is anyhow. His exceptionally large brain has caused him to overthink too much. Thats why when on the ball all he does is useless stepovers and then pass it back to Simpson. If we could somhow simplify his brain to knock past defenders, run onto the ball, then cross. Does Dr. Steadman specialise in brain reductions?
BoSelecta
Who was the last player we bought from a Premiership team? Obertan. Yes of course, it wasn't a trick question, I just couldn't remember. Was it Simspon before him?

I can see him and/or Milner going to Liverpool for a pretty hefty fee in the summer.

Get the feeling signing them this summer is year too late tho, would have made sense trying to get them last summer instead of Henderson and Downing. But this is Liverpool we are talking about and they never do anything that makes sense.
Ginola
Can't see us signing Belhanda like, Martin is a much more realistic target and would be a brilliant signing imo.
Ketsbaia
After last season there'd have been all sorts of teams after him. Maybe Sochaux's bad season, combined with our excellent one has moved him into the 'realistic' zone. Has he still played well, despite their position? Cajun
The thing that always pops into my head when we are thinking 'bigger clubs will be in for him is' Pappis Demba Rodney Cissè, how the hell did he manage to slip under so many clubs radars? thorin
I haven't seen anything (really) off Martin, but for a midfield 3 - I seriously believe Belhanda is the best fit, as he can cover all positions. Expensive? I have no idea, hopefully they've found a clause or whatnot so we can get him in. The way he finds his teammates is just amazing... All true, Belhanda fits what we need to a tee, but even if we got CL football i doubt we could afford him. I heard PSG are ready to put 20m on the table for him which would eliminate teams like ourselves straight away. Also i dont think there is a clause for Belhanda but i didnt think there was for M'Biwa and Giroud initially and there apparently is so i suppose its a possibility. I remember when we were initially linked to Martins a few years ago - all the responses on here were saying we had no chance. I mean we bought Ben Arfa after a season in the championship, got Cisse, Cabaye, Santon etc. People definitely under-estimate our cachet just cos we're not called Liverpool. Ikon
Probably going to be quite expensive, their chairman/president doesn't sound like one who let's players go easily. Personally, he would easily be my first choice of all players, him and HBA in the same team (Belhanda)
