Aye he didn't have that bad a game but the fact remains he hasn't a clue how to defend a winger running at him.

Bale in two weeks is going to be a nightmare.

We have an annoying habit on this forum of wetting our pants about opposition players. Bale will be a test but instead of fretting about their attacking nous, let's concentrate on ours. This Newcastle side at home is capable of causing any team problems. Spurs' back four today was Walker, King, Kaboul and Bale: there's no reason why we can't cause them a whole host of problems. King is the only really quality defender out of the lot. Bale is very attacking mind, Walker is nothing overly special and Kaboul is as average a centre back as you'll see in the PL.

And the law of averages says King is more than likely to injure himself between now and our next game ;)

Agreed, but it was Assou Ekotto at LB. Bale played on da wing.

Before the Mackem game, someone was worried about Connor Wickham after he supposedly "dominated" Colo when we played Ipswich in the Championship.

Pretty sure that came from Wearside.

Yep, the two players he tipped to put us to the sword were Whickham and Sessengnon.

Some of the scores for Simpson have been unfair, I saw him make at least 3 vital interceptions / tackles yesterday which would have led to goals.

How do you know they would have led to goals?

Simpson himself was to blame for the goal, btw. He was bloody terrible from the first whistle.

Love to know how he came to that conclusion, given that the game wasn't televised.

First 70 minutes was a damn good away performance.

Ultimately though you were extremely lucky to win that. Should've been a penalty against S. Taylor, and although I haven't seen a decisive replay, it certainly didn't look like the whole ball was out before Wolves' disallowed goal.

Still, you have to take what you can get and ride your luck. Every result isn't going to directly reflect the relevant performance in that match. Up until the last 10 minutes, I thought your performance was assured and professional, and Wolves were looking fairly desperate. It was a clear case of one side having confidence and one side lacking it.

Am I the only person on the planet who doesn't think that should have been a pen?, to me O'Hara dived.

I think it was a dive too.

Watching last nights MOTD, that f***ing goal music man.

Probably the real reason the goal was disallowed.

Loved all of our lot singing their goal music when the ref disallowed it.

Was class that, they didn't realise for ages

Tom Hark by The Piranahs.

After the most recent derby game, the whole of Rosies was dancing to that when it came on the juke box. Was class.

What absolute shite, he made mistakes but he also made some good runs in the first half and made some vital interceptions.

As for the goal comment, they would have lead to a one on one with the keeper from a few yards out, so a really, really, really good chance of scoring. That better?

Ronaldo's right, he's an abomination of a full back. The two times Tiote slotted into RB in the first half when Simpson was nowhere to be seen just highlighted what a difference it would make to have someone with an ounce of defensive ability play there.

Abomination.

Unbelievable. Yes he's not exceptional but the hyper criticism of Simpson is beginning to make people look daft.
