Baggio
Tiote's involvement at Stoke is still doubtful because of the knee injury he picked up against Wigan that forced him to miss the Carling Cup defeat by Blackburn in midweek. Pardew has named the same side for five successive Premier League matches but, if Tiote does not make it, he has a ready-made replacement in Danny Guthrie, who excelled on a rare start at Ewood Park on Wednesday. 'I don't think Cheik could have done much more than Danny Guthrie on the night, he was brilliant,' added Pardew. 'To come into the team without having featured and score a wonder goal too, hats off to him.' The Prophet
He'll of been asked if he thought Guthrie was a good enough replacement for Tiote, he's hardly going to say 'Guthrie?! He was fucking shit' is he? It would be hilarious if he did like, well not for Guthrie.

Christmas Tree
Having looked forward to this game all week, it has to be said that this thread has been pretty sober reading during the day and my enthusiasm had been blunted. However my positive vibes have returned and I think we will come away with all three points.

Dr Venkman
Everton at home is huge if we lose this one, gotta take three points from one of them to prevent us dropping too far over the next few weeks.

I doubt we would drop outside of the top 10 if we lose the next 5 anyway tbh, we've got to be realistic about the next 5 games though and we're unlikely to pick up many points at all and in the same games last season we only picked up 1 point, it's just how the fixtures have it we've got these 5 tough games on the bounce. Yep,I'll be disappointed if we don't finish top 7 though and i'll be a bit anxious if we fall too far away from that. We're clearly capable imo. LucaAltieri
With Spurs winning today we could use three points to cement ourselves as top 4. Leap frogging Chelsea with a draw would be satisfying but really I'd like to see us playing for, and picking up, all three points.

Magpie
Guthrie can not even be compared to Tiote, different class altogether. If he starts instead of Tiote it will be a certain loss I fear.
Cajun
Guthrie is more Cabaye than anything, obviously Cabaye -1000 but still more like him than Tiote which he couldn't be any different from. I am indifferent towards the lad really, has some quality, capable of doing something good on occasion. Obviously not a patch on the man he could be replacing but I don't agree it's the difference between win or lose.
