R Taylor 7.5 - Helped out a lot by Jonas, but looked more solid than expected and played quite a few decent little balls.. S Taylor 6.5 - Quite a few silly errors but one or two essential touches. Also looked a threat going forwards as always (would have scored the second if Ba had missed). Colo 9 - Immense Simpson 8 - Looked good going forwards, and had very little to trouble him until Walters went onto the left. Jonas 9 - Unbelievably solid. Looks like a good choice world cup fullback Cabaye 7.5 - Mixed. Some great balls, but lost the ball a fair bit too. Guthrie 8 - A more than capable backup midfielder. Obertan 8 - Mercurial, but looked a real threat on the break Best 8 - Worked very hard; unselfish Ba 9 - MOTM. What else can I say? Subs: Perch 2 - Only gets more than 1 as he isn't Smith. Disco Posted October 31, 2011 Share Posted October 31, 2011 Krul 7 - dealt with most the hoy ins well Simpson 8.5 - Etherington binned off early, speaks volumes, +0.5 for towel use Coloccini 8.5 - marshalled the defence superbly as always S.Taylor 8.5 - aggressive and decisive when needed R.Taylor 8.5 - Kept Pennant at bay most of the game, couple of good Delaps, +0.5 for towel use Jonas 8.5 - You probably won't see a better defensive wide performance all season Guthrie 8 - superb, kept the ball well Cabaye 7 - good in the first, sloppy in the second Obertan 8 - great ball for the first, relieved pressure well. Easily the best I've seen from him. Best 8 - Tireless work and combination play Ba 9 - goals, goals, goals +0.5 for merking the neanderthals Pardew 9 - pretty much faultless Towel boys 10 - wern't overawed by our lads demanding towel usage.
