Kanj
Hopefully he sort of pulls himself together and recovers quicker than expected and can be involved on Saturday. Really would like to have our top 11 for the opener but like OpNut mentioned above, not the worst thing in the world to have Marv & Jonas out wide. Marv has had an excellent preseason and Jonas is our reliable ball-carrier, calming influence on the squad, and excellent cover/understanding with Santon on the left. Having said all that, I hope everyone is declared fit and HBA is on the pitch to terrorize the fuck out Spurs back-line
Guest
So long as it's Marveaux and not Obertan of course.
toptoon
4-4-2 with Marveaux and Jonas out wide isn't the worst thing in the world. Well it's probably the best we've got for now if HBA is out. Marveaux i really like the look of but very early days still and Spurs will be a big test for him. Can he be effective ? Let's hope so. Jonas we know what we will get and he'll possibly double up on whichever winger he plays against.
Guest BooBoo
Feasibly our attacking six could be: Obertan. Gosling. Perch. Marveaux Shola Jonas

Shak
It's hardly a shocking statement tbf, Jonas is better in CM.
Mole_Toonfan
It's hardly a shocking statement tbf, Jonas is better in CM. Yep, practically all his attributes are better suited to CM. Although his work rate cannot be underestimated and against a team that heavily uses the wings he will be important.
BrettNUFC
It's hardly a shocking statement tbf, Jonas is better in CM. On the basis of what exactly here? I'm assuming if he was a better CM than winger, a club, manager, coach would have picked this up and played him regularly in this position before the ripe age of 29. I'm assuming if he was a better CM than winger, a club, manager, coach would have picked this up and played him regularly in this position before the ripe age of 29. Because he has lost some of his pace and now CM suits him much more. His close control, ball carrying abilities, possession recycling, tackling, interceptions, quick and incisive passing all suit a CM. He does fantastically well as a defensive winger ala Ramires but going forward he doesn't create enough any more so he's suited in the middle a lot more. Doesn't mean he's useless as a winger ( far from it in fact) but his skill set suits a CM more than a winger.
Anderson
In a 4-4-2 he's a winger and one of the first names on the team sheet, there's absolutely no debate to be had about that as far as I'm concerned.

Agree with that, my basis was on the scenario we go with a different system like 4-3-3 where he's a better midfielder in that system than he his a winger. Anderson
Well that's pretty much a given considering there's nee wingers in a 4-3-3.
