Tiresias Posted December 31, 2011 Share Posted December 31, 2011 I was just getting undeservedly annoyed probably at Pardew, wondering if his dream lineup with a fully fit squad is completely different to mine, especially since he said everything right to begin with, we were to be playing good fast paced attacking football, passing it not hoofing it. What would everyones dream starting 11 out of our players for the most important match of the season or whatever. Krul Simspon Saylor Colo Santon (Simpson only because of no other choice really atm. Hopefully replaced) Guthrie Tiote (Abeid maybe more suited but haven't seen enough of him and if he can perform at top, Guthrie impressed me plenty before) HBA Cabaye Marveaux (lost faith in our wide players, haven't really seen enough Marveaux but he did impress briefly and Jonas has been crap of late) Ba Begun to think Cabaye is wasted playing deeper, and we need his goal threat, he's plenty capable of holding up ball and playing killer passes, he'd be a more possessive central playmaker than HBA, though I wouldn't ask HBA to play too wide, merely link up with Cabaye and Ba. Colos Short and Curlies Posted December 31, 2011 Share Posted December 31, 2011 Pretty similar tbh, would push HBA and an-other (maybe Vuckic but he needs to grow into a first team player) ahead of Cabaye so its a 4-2-1-2-1 formation. Would need the 2 behind BA to be willing to interchange sides, pull wide when needed, support the midfield when under pressure and provide a link with BA so pretty demanding positions. We reallly need to replace Simpson and play Santon, full backs are the only positions preventing us going witha variation of 4-3-3 now imo Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm thinking as we have wingers who cant/dont cross, lets stop playing 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 as its pointless if your playing wingers like that, change it to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 etc and try something different. Jonas there, because he is smart enough to know when to tuck in if 2 of the middle men go and we need to cover and he work rate, Hopefully would get more attacking play out of him with abeid and tiote covering raylor.
