Think most of that is just Pardew trying to keep morale up, other managers do it all the time. I don't think anything he says are any indication of what signings we will or won't make. You said to be alright..... we don't need that much to be alright, we need that much to be in contention with the likes of Everton. Agreed. 2 Strikers - gomis and remy - 7m and possibly a loan? 1 Winger - sinclair - 5m? 1 Centre Half - a young promising cb - 2m? 1 Squad filler - to replace perchinho.. - another 1-2m perhaps? With Cabaye, Tiote, Sissoko, Anita, Bigi and hell even Jonas in a central role we have more than enough to cover that. I'd even argue there was many occasions last season when Perch was playing when he shouldn't have done. Especially if we are going 4-4-2 as well, even less CMs will be required.
