Alberto2005
I'd be content with Gomis/Remy + Sinclair/Ince/some other winger. Yeah?
BONTEMPI
So we're down to needing 'a player... or two', we're in 'good shape' and have got 'a strong squad'. What changed? Doesn't sound like anything has changed to me - he was a bare-faced liar last season and still is. Yup, f***ing pathetic. We needed at least 4-5 players to see us alright next season. However, any decent players we get in will soon be f***ing ruined by this imposter. No we don't. 2 Strikers 1 Winger 1 Centre Half 1 Squad filler Am I missing something? Deuce
I'd be content with Gomis/Remy + Sinclair/Ince/some other winger. Just content ? Pales in comparison to that January window. Though after this summer of nonsense, I suppose I should be weeping tears of joy for a transfer window like that.
Deuce
Ideally we'd get Gomis AND Remy + a winger, but I highly doubt that'll happen.

You said to be alright..... we don't need that much to be alright, we need that much to be in contention with the likes of Everton. To be alright we need 1 or 2 strikers, but as i said before without Europe we would be alright anyway if someone competent was in charge.

We need that just to stay a float imo. We got lucky as fuck last season, with the football on offer being consistent with a bottom 2 slot. As with everything we'll see, but I'm fully expecting to see the same shit pie served up this coming season. That won't change with just 1 Striker coming in. Agreed. 2 Strikers - gomis and remy - 7m and possibly a loan? 1 Winger - sinclair - 5m? 1 Centre Half - a young promising cb - 2m? 1 Squad filler - to replace perchinho.. - another 1-2m perhaps? This should've been the aim this summer, but we've not even got one so far
Ashley17
We'll probably sign a centre half if Williamson leaves, and not a moment sooner.
alexf
Is quite extraordinary we are a few hours away from the 29th July and the team that came 16th last season have yet to add to the squad and worse have let some squad players like perch leave. Mole_Toonfan
I still don't understand why we need to replace Perch, we have more enough players in the positions he played. I agree with the rest, but i'll say it again we don't need that much to be alright. We need that much to have a good season, but not to be alright. You'd need to ask the current manager, who put him on the pitch 37 times last season.
AyeDubbleYoo
If we get a striker and a wide player we'll have everything we need to have a good season IMO. Elsewhere we have decent depth.

With Cabaye, Tiote, Sissoko, Anita, Bigi and hell even Jonas in a central role we have more than enough to cover that. I'd even argue there was many occasions last season when Perch was playing when he shouldn't have done. Especially if we are going 4-4-2 as well, even less CMs will be required. Dave
So unless Pardew has a change of heart on tactics, Perch will be missed.

If were going 4-4-2 he already has, It's going to be Cabaye (if he isn't sold) plus one other. I think it might be Sissoko more often than Tiote. Skirge
We could do with signing a RB, we have Dbuch and although Taylor and MYM can cover RB I think we suffer a lot from having non specialist players in certain positions. Perch could play there and Simpson was a RB, we were desperate for two LB's we now have that but only one RB.
alexf
People forget how ridiculously cursed we seem to be with injuries. Most years we tend to be top of the injury league. Ofcourse we will miss someone like Perch. Just off the top of my head; Krul - struggled with injuries recently particularly ones that can be recurring. Coloccini - has persistent back/hamstring trouble. S.Taylor - when did he last play a full season? Santon - quite a few hamstring pulls and also a known knee cartilage problem from when he first joined. Debuchy- again hamstrings. Missed a fair few games for lille and had a few problems for us in his first half season. Tiote- again muscle injuries Cabaye-groin etc Ben-Arfa- May be harsh but again hasn't yet played a full season for us in 3 years Shola - That's potentially 8 of our first 11 you know more than likely could miss chunks of next year and that's not to mention the likes of Vuckic, Gosling, Marveaux etc who also have their own history of problems. Pilko
Santon will be the second choice right-back, and then we have the left-back pool of Dummett, Haidara and Yanga-Mbwia to rely on.
AyeDubbleYoo
Anita is also a decent RB.
Guest bimpy474
Mapou's first game was RB in Russia, and he played mint.
Mole_Toonfan
Depends what you mean by "missed", we finished 16th last season if certain players who played too much in a crap season are sold on and more talented players are given more chances it can only be a good thing. As i already stated we have 6 players ( all better than Perch IMO) in the role he was best at, we are not exactly going to struggle to get midfielders out on the pitch. Out of the ones let go only Simpson will be "missed" IMO because of pure numbers. It has nothing to do with tactics, more that we have more enough players to cope in that position. duo
We've zero cover for Ben Arfa - as for Cabaye the closet is Anita.
Skeletor
We've zero cover for Ben Arfa - as for Cabaye the closet is Anita. We haven't even got a good left winger never mind cover for Ben Arfa.
