TRon
Why would he want to leave? can't see him getting a bigger club and he has been doing well when he has a game. Better wages or longer contract are two obvious reasons. Close to 30 isnt he? Practically retired in the clubs eyes £8m for someone approaching 30 would have our accountants frothing at the gash. That's the figure I saw being mentioned and I could see us getting it.
Heron
Seen something about Sven Goran Erikkson wanting him for £8million on FB...
Eddy Chibas
So Pardoo is looking for an RW/auxiliary Fb, who occasionally & ridiculously moonlights as a targetman upfront and is expected to deliver twenty plus strikes (moments of magic) from bugger all service? Dave
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/newcastle-united-transfer-news-papiss-ciss-could-net-225m-in-shanghai-surprise-9999824.html Newcastle United transfer news: Papiss Cissé could net £22.5m in Shanghai surprise The Newcastle United forward Papiss Cissé has been offered the chance to become one of the best-paid players in the world, earning £22.5m with Chinese side Shanghai SIPG. Cash-rich Shanghai, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, have put together a three-year package worth £150,000 a week for the 29-year-old. Cissé, currently at the African Cup of Nations with Senegal, has just 18 months left on his Newcastle contract and admitted last week that he could move to Swansea City to replace Wilfried Bony. Rather than risk losing him for nothing, Newcastle will sell the player for around £8m. They paid German club SC Freiburg £9m for Cissé in 2011; he has scored 32 goals in 87 Premier League games. Cissé suffered a serious injury last season when he dislocated his knee at a time when his then manager Alan Pardew had largely lost faith in a player who had initially refused to wear Wonga-branded training gear at Newcastle because of his religious faith. However, the striker’s return this season was vital to Pardew’s job security, as he scored four goals in key games to keep him in charge at St James’ Park until his departure for Crystal Palace last month. Cissé is on wages of around £30,000 a week but if the offer of a move to China proves tempting he can expect to bank around £7.5m a year. Eriksson moved to Shanghai in November and could himself earn as much as £15m. The former England manager was previously in charge of another Chinese club, Guangzhou R&F. junkhead
Cisse has played 'within himself' for a long time now. Right time to sell him.. despite EVERYTHING ELSE going at the club. Unless of course we're planning on appointing a new manager any time soon - somebody who knows how to use and motivate a limited goal poacher.. aussiemag
Shanghai just offered 8 million over 3 years to Tomi Juric a young Australian striker. He rejected them. Cisse must be their backup

Dokko
If we can get somewhere near £20m for Cisse & Tiote someone needs prison time.

Unless of course we're planning on appointing a new manager any time soon - somebody who knows how to use and motivate a limited goal poacher.. Is this a joke? Take away his goals and we'd be close to bottom of the league. If we're relying on Perez for the rest of the season we'll probably go down.
Smal
I quite like the idea of playing Ayoze off Cissé so I hope we don't sell him, like.

Dave
We're like £50m in the black, who gives a shit if other clubs appear to overpay for our players by this point. YES! EVEN MORE MONEY IN THE BANK!

Dokko
Stupid argument, always has been. If you think Ashley is tight now, lets see what he's like if he gets peanuts for all his players. The only chance we have on the pitch is selling players for good money and replacing them on the cheap to be sold again at a profit. The only chance we have off it is our books look tempting to a potential buyer, and part of that will be clearing the debt the club owes to Ashley. Sooner he gets his money back the better. The other stupid side to this argument is that you'd be kicking off should we sell Sissoko for £5m, or Ayoze for £3m, this place would go mad. This place also wanks over how little we paid for Ayoze and Sissoko to some degree. You can't have it boths ways, transfer fees either matter or they don't. Make your mind up. Dave
Not everyone has the same opinion. Been a long time since I gave a fuck about how much we make on sales. It couldn't matter less.
Disco
The only chance we have on the pitch is if we sell our best players, some top logic there.

Unfortunately under Ashley its the only way we can progress. Plus i never said best players, Tiote and Cisse are far from it. But you know, words in mouth etc..
