Chelsea can't really afford to drop any more home points going for the CL. Don't think they'll go mad and get 4 or 5 but they should win by 2.

Benitez would prefer to win the FA cup and Europa league, he would prefer to win 2 trophies than finish 4th.

Just seen someone suggest they should applause on the 31st minute in respect to Marty.

WTF  :D

I saw that :) - I think they are all lunatics tbh, yet every mackem I meet seems to have similar traits, all grade A fuckwits when it comes to discussing football.

They are strange people. 'Mags' are like celebrities to them.

They should just have a 'Mags in Public' thread.

I am gutted he is their manager as he's a massive favourite of mine!

ewww

Was!

Will be again when he takes them down!

Well, we're about to see whether being a total f*cking loon as a manager has a place in the Premier. Been trying to remember if anyone anywhere near as crackers has managed in the top flight before, but I'm struggling. I guess Holloway and Mourinho were unique in their own way, but Di Canio's on a whole different level. It's certainly going to be interesting.

If I were a betting man, my money would be on it all imploding in spectacular fashion, but I've just got this tiny worry that the gamble might pay off short term. Hopefully they'll be on the end of a proper humping today and the feel good factor will evaporate quickly.

Aye, but they weren't self proclaimed fascists who had been photographed doing lots of fascist stuff, caused the resignation of a very prominent board member, and then come up with a meaningless, half hearted, orchestrated statement when it all became a little inconvenient to be a fascist.

I meant them as characters, not the politics issue.....but yes, we've certainly never had a staunch Mussolini supporter managing in the premier before.

Apologies if a re-post but:

"If I'm a dinosaur then so is Fergie" - O'Neill

MARTIN O’Neill has rejected suggestions that his time in football has passed, after failing to make a success of his time at Sunderland.

The Northern Irishman was in charge at the Stadium of Light for 15 months from the beginning of December 2011 to the end of March 2013.

And although initial results and displays suggested that he still had the Midas touch shown at previous clubs like Celtic, Aston Villa and Leicester, he wasn’t able to maintain that early success.

Over time, the performances of his team faded along with the results and the new signings he made were not able to turn things around.

But he says that had nothing to do with his methods or his thinking being outdated.

He said: “I’ve heard this word ‘dinosaur’ before but the biggest dinosaur in the game is also its most successful manager – I’m talking about Sir Alex Ferguson.

“It was interesting too that England turned to someone of the age and experience of Roy Hodgson, and QPR turned to Harry Redknapp.

“Everyone has a shelf life, but I don’t think age has anything to do with it.,” he said.

He also pointed to the fact that he has always been a forward-thinking coach and remains very much in the jobs market.

“Training methods I’ve introduced have been taken up and still are used by other coaches.

“And we employed a specialised coach this season, which not many clubs do, to improve technical aspects. I think all these things are important.

“I might not know every key stroke on a computer, but I have embraced laptop culture and I’m not out of touch.

“I want to stay in football management – it’s important to me – and I wouldn’t want to leave it like this.

“Day to day management is something I’ve been doing for more than 20 years, and I’ve got the same drive and determination as I had when I first walked through the door as a manager at Wycombe Wanderers.”

"I have embraced laptop culture"
