Dr Colossus
Wey wu shud gan for fookn kevin borl marra, borlly's the one to save wu Seriously though, lately when Adkins and McDermott got sacked (arguably justifiably in both cases), Robbie Savage has come out and bleated about how shocked and appalled he is and how it's a hideous decision and all this. Just the other week he was saying after Fletcher and Cattermole were ruled out for the rest of the season, that Sunderland are in trouble, but if anyone can pull them out, Martin O'Neill's the man for the job. Which is stupid because, he put them in that mess too, so how can you be that confident that he can turn it around?

I can tolerate the likes of Savage saying that compared to others in the media (Oliver Holt is one of the worst for blindly supporting O'Neill) because at least he's played under him and has some idea of what he can do from a personal level

nufcjb
The timing is absolute bonkers. They could easily have done it after the snorefest against Norwich. That was the best time, sack Marty and find his replacement during the 10+ days of international break. But it's just typical of them. They must have hoped they were going to pull off a win against Fergie's second string and that would be the turning point for their survival. If that was the case, no surprise. They're so f***ed up. Varadi
Wow - genuinely surprised by this. Only appointment they could make now that would worry me would be Gus fucking Poyet because that would mean certain defeat in the derby.
Karjala
Mark Hughes I reckon

Reckon Poyet is keen to see how Brighton's season pans out tbh
mrmojorisin75
Mark Hughes I reckon that'd be a fuckin bonkers call at this stage of the game, if they stay then i could see it but now...hughes has no track record in saving teams from relegation does he? Sima
Bastards. At least I knew what I was getting with Sunderland and O'Neill A new manager bounce could net them at least 4 points in the next 3 games.

Ishmael
So I just checked on google as to whether honeymoon periods exist... Historically, they do. Damn.
Ryan_Taylor
They really have no clue about football or the position they're in based on some of their suggestions
Ryan_Taylor
So I just checked on google as to whether honeymoon periods exist... Historically, they do. Damn. Aye, but every club in the bottom 5 who've sacked there manager with 8 games or less to play has gone down. So my panicking Mackem friend has me told anyway
Wilson
So it turns out that 31 on his tracksuit was his win percentage for them. http://e2.365dm.com/12/11/660x350/Sunderland-v-West-Brom-Martin-O-Neill-pa_2865452.jpg?20121124155605

54
Top 3 odds for there next manager: Di Canio 3/1, McLaren 4/1, Hughes 6/1.
Karjala
No way they will bring Reid back, will they?! I think a humping at Chelsea and the honeymoon period will be over. Obviously the passion of the derby gives them another chance to bounce back but their team has reminded me of our relegation one all season, and yesterday was no different. LRD
Kevin Ball ah the memorys, wor lass worked in Dixon Sports in the Metro Centre years and years ago and he came in to buy his kids some trainers... he gave her all this "Do you know who i am" crap and she said no idea. He said I'm Kevin Ball i play for Sunderland, she said my boyfriend says Sunderland are crap. He wasn't best pleased and went off to be served by someone else. Pointless post i know but she did meet David Ginola and got me a signed Nike top off him while she worked there, reckoned he was sexy as f*** as well....bitch Had no idea who Kevin Ball is so went to wiki him. http://www.fotoshack.us/fotos/5845ball.jpg Which one should I choose? NG32
McLaren would be a good fit. Edit - tho im not sure who would take it on, they have no fire power at all. Its going to be difficult to get them creating chances.
nufc4eva
They need someone who can organise the team and dig in not a foreign manager to play pass and move as they really dont have the players for it, they are so one paced its unreal and offer absolutely zero threat most of games.
