Based on how he did after Shearer retired, how do you come to that conclusion?

Beattie was heavily linked with us in the summer of 2004. Instead we signed Kluivert. Beattie played for Southampton and had scored 37 goals in the league during his two last seasons at the club.

During that time - I think he would have been a great signing for us. Shearer, Bellamy and Beattie.

He decided to sign for Everton later that 2004/05 season and was a failure. Still thought he would have been a great signing for us during that time.

Funny about Modric is that we would have flogged him vs. Spurs keeping him.

Interesting bit about the installments based on performance, surely that sounds like an awful deal for the seller given if something happened to the player (injury) or performance wise the fee would be lower where we were looking to pay some 20M right? (rumors)

He was utter shite after that.

Bullet firmly dodged.

Ruiz is good isn't he?

He's been fantastic as an AM behind Berba this season, just been injured for last 6 weeks or so....

He's a great player IMO he's not really something we need now Marv has come into his own or starting to do so but he's not exactly someone i'm glad we didn't get either.

Dean Ashton

Would've been class if he never got injured. A much more rounded player than Carroll.

Really had a lot going for him, went 10 games without scoring in the championship and was man of the match every game due to his immense work rate. That's pretty impressive for someone whose primary job is to get goals.

Liked him a lot and was desperate for him to come here, such a shame what happened with him.

Shit hair though.
