Still got skinned at least once, also I've yet to see much attacking threat from him, crosses were poor today. Looks slow too.

Jarvis is quick though

I'm sure it was Cole who 'skinned' him near the end of the game.

Jarvis.

Much more solid defensively today. Tried to get forward a lot but was largely ignored. When he wasn't, he never received the right ball that would open up the space in front of him (see his goal in preseason). Hopefully this will come with time.

Agreed, honestly i thought the entire back 6 was good.

Its the front 4 which was f*cking shite until the last 10-15 mins.

Did well enough. Only got done by Jarvis because he was standing square on to prevent Jarvis cutting in onto his stronger foot. When Jarvis opted to go down the line he could only pop the ball up, couldn't cross it with any pace. Wasn't Debuchey's fault the other 3 made a meal of floatied cross travelling at about 12mph.

This

He clearly hasn't got everything, least of all pace. But he was intelligent in those 1v1's.

Still think he's a bit naive at times, especially considering he's 28 and he should know better than to get caught flat footed or stick a boot in when he should jockey the player onto his weaker foot.

Miles better than the Man City game, though you'd expect that given the difference in opposition.

Didn't really do a lot of note. But, one of the funniest things from the game was Morecambe's plan of hoofing it long to the big lad on the left wing, targeting Debuchy. Big lad didn't win a single one. :aww:

All their openings in the first 20/30 mins came down the left tbf. That bad tackle actually improved his performance though, was more solid after.

Fair point, actually. The defence, as a whole, was all over the place during that period, though. Largely down to them being almost complete strangers, I'd guess (or Pardew LOLOLOL). That tackle was shocking, would have been off in a PL game. He got a couple early on, being targeted by them to radge him up, so I'm glad he kept his head.
