Jimburst
A few good tackles and played more conservatively than usual. Hopefully he continues in the vein and begins to up the forward runs he was apparently reputed for in France. Only once he's sussed defending properly, though. Sifu
Was his best performance to date yesterday. Almost beast-like, solid defending (bar one moment) and supported the attack as much as he could without compromising his defensive duties. The one moment I enjoyed was when he muscled his way down the Villa right wing at around the 70/75 minute mark.
The College Dropout
His lack of pace means he's going to have to be quite a tough tackling fullback.
Belfast Mags
Lunged in for a booking again though, can see him getting send off a couple of times this season I'm afraid.
The College Dropout
Lunged in for a booking again though, can see him getting send off a couple of times this season I'm afraid. He's looks slower than Simpson. He has to dive in or else he'll get skinned. Hopefully, he'll adjust his game to read situations better to cope. KaKa
He's not slower than Simpson I don't think. The difference is that Simpson hardly ever got forward, and so wasn't out of position as much. In addition to this Simpson always backed off, and gave attackers more room, so he didn't appear to be lagging behind as much, however he invited attackers onto us a lot more. Away Toon
Apparently Simpson was the fastest player at the club, so definitely slower.

Memphis
Lost Agbonlatwat for his missed sitter, but very good other than that. Seems to be settled in the side. Think he let Luna get into a similar position too. He played well today though, I like the way he plays with Ben Arfa. Debuchy to Ben Arfa has been our most frequently completed pass over the last two matches - 26 different times, more than any other combination. 15 of his 25 passes on Saturday went to HBA. LRD
That overhit pass by Hatem to Debuchy running to the byline for a cross. If it was Simpson, Hatem would have cut inside and had a crack at goal.

Parky
Toilet again today and now he's added a Simpson style loft (x3) to nobody to his repertoire.
LRD
Didn't hold his position for the 1st and 3rd goals. Wandered too far infield. Poor performance today.

Newcastle Fan
Still don't know what the fuck he was doing for their first, he paved the way for them to go back to the game.
Jayson
He must not ever leave position. Ever ever ever. Its bad enough when hes there let alone when hes off on his trots & Ben Arfas meant to cover him.

Ronaldo
Weird lapses of concentration today. He really had no idea what he was meant to be doing at times. He doesn't know how to defend. Apparently he didn't have to do it in that Mickey Mouse sham of a league.

Apparently he didn't have to do it in that Mickey Mouse sham of a league. Tbf i expect more from a guy who's played International football. WHAT he was doing for the 1st goal i just don't know. I know he didn't get much support (well next to none) from HBA today but you have to expect that with a 4-3-3. It's just the way he would go into midfield or central leaving his wing completely exposed that baffled. What was even stranger is that we had players there already but he still went walkabout. Barnes23
Below par today but he shouldn't become a scapegoat for our collective defensive failings, like when he was covering (rightly or wrongly) a gap created by our lack of organization for the first goal.
