Dave
Pretty embarrassingly easy for Chelsea. They cut through us at will, then relaxed second half to conserve energy for their next match. Plus points are Ben Arfa and that our goal difference didn't take too much of a hammering, and that's about it. Lots of work to do.
Ameritoon
We really missed Tiote in that, they were all over us physically, especially in the midfield. When it comes down to it there was a penalty and an extremely nice shot that separated us. Not the worst performance, but could've been better. Good thing it's Villa at the weekend. nemtizz
Hazard is a beast. Anita dumb mistake. Beaten by the better team.
juniatmoko
playing 2 strikers up front when our central mid was non existance is pretty fail... should pack more midfield from beginning
McCormick
Pretty meh showing by our lads, some more meh than others.
BONTEMPI
We look stale, unfit and HBA aside, short of ideas. Still, at least we kept all our players so it's been a terrific summer. It's 1 game against a side who will be challenging for the title ffs Don't think they will. Top four club yes, but not impressed by them at all. We gifted them the 1st and switched off for the 2nd then what did they do?
David28
Pretty embarrassingly easy for Chelsea. They cut through us at will, then relaxed second half to conserve energy for their next match. Plus points are Ben Arfa and that our goal difference didn't take too much of a hammering, and that's about it. Lots of work to do. Absolutely this. They didn't have to get into 2nd gear today it seemed.
Guest BEN BEN BEN ARFA
must pardwe chosen between the two cissé ba and it is not possible
Guest BooBoo
Massive week for us. We simply have to get a striker (no fucking back up on the bench today is ludicrous for a European side) and a new right back. We all know Simpson is limited and now he knows he's not wanted, his confidence is shot.
Guest Pedro_de_geordieo
Marveaux was excellent
David28
We really missed Tiote today, too. Anita is a better passer. In games like today you need the perfect destroyer - Tiote.
Mike
I'd be terrified if they still had Drogba.
timeEd32
Before the season I would have signed up for 3 points from opening matches vs. Spurs and at Chelsea and a decent position after leg one of the EL qualifier. Considering how unfit half our team looks and some of the injuries, it's a borderline miracle. This is one to forget and move on.
Crayola Kid
Thought we did a lot of things well, against a good side who got their noses in front early. Also thought that the number of times the ball broke to or was passed to Danny Simpson in space was incredible, but he didnt want to try to use it to build an attack so it always ended up being played backwards. Its not Simpsons fault that he isnt the kind of fullback who could dictate a game under those circumstances, but it is a shame we havent been able to bring in a replacement, as this game could have been different with more drive from that area. Midfield matched up well, an extra attacking outlet from right back would have overstretched Chelsea, in my opinion
nemtizz
Just think of the monies spent on players.

Guest BooBoo
Interested to hear Pards after this to see if he's at all hopeful of bringing players in this week.
Wullie
They're European Champions ffs. You'd think we'd just been knocked out the cup by Burton Albion.
SLK
Cabay not back to his best yet. Missed Tiote. Simpson can't attack nor defend against quality opponents.
Crayola Kid
They're European Champions ffs. You'd think we'd just been knocked out the cup by Burton Albion. exactly. we played better today than we did last week!
Ketsbaia
Shame we lost but we played well, especially in the 2nd half. When Chelsea casually spend £100m on players, we shouldnt be upset at losing 2-0. Positives from today, so lets beat Villa! Ben Arfa was brilliant. Ameritoon
Other annoying things; Cabaye's positioning (push up the field, ffs), Ba and Cisse always receiving the ball with their back to goal and limited options, why is Danny Simpson always open? Cronky
That was the best game I've seen from HBA. He was very strong on the ball and managed to make the most of the situations that came his way. Cisse was poor. On that form, if we have to play one of Ba and Cisse (and I think we should), then it would be Ba at the moment.
Dyeyzzon
Krul - 6. Not much to do really, No chance for either goals. Simpson - 6. Not bad, not good either. Saylor - 7. Looked assured and solid. Coloccini - 6. Same as Tayls but some poor touches. A bit rusty. Santon - 6. Good attacking runs but cut apart at times defensively. Ben Arfa - 8. MotM for us. The only attacking spark. Cabaye - 5. Unfit. Terrible set piece deliveries. Anita - 6. Good engine, and stamina. Only downside was the penalty. Jonas - 7. Put in a good shift defensively. Ba - 5. Some poor touches, should have scored. Cisse - 5. Invisible, same as Ba. Raylor - 6. Put in that good delivery for the Cisse chance, but was chasing shadows when tracking back v Hazard. Marveaux - 6. Looked tidy. Perch - 6. Same as Marv. SteveMc
Thought played ok. Decent in the second half and should have scored at least one.
