Guest Walter
f***ing hell, a year already?! Best away trip I've ever been on and I didn't even go to the game. best away trip by far, I've got some amazing photos of the square during the game
Magpie
Wish I'd never actually went to the game. Felt like I had to walk about 10 mile there and 10 mile back with no sign of a taxi anywhere. My feet were in bits by the time we got back to the square but then the rest of the night was superb. This. Absolutely ruined by the time we got back to the town centre. Luckily found an off licence around the corner from that mini square that sold Strongbow, that sorted me out.

ponsaelius
I think its sarcasm going off his previous posts. Alan was a big critic of Pardew's Europe scapegoating.
Doctor Zaius
Ah, my mistake then. Either way Bruges was an unreal trip like.
David Icke - Son of God
I remember the police being very insistent in the build up about their being no open bottles in the square during the match. Fortunately they didn't say a fucking thing about cans. Finally found out the answer to how many tins of Jupiler I can carry about my person (answer - not as much as I would like but more than I thought my pockets would hold). I knew a Belgian lass from uni who lived outside of Bruges. Met up with her on the day of the match. I don't think she's forgiven me.
ponsaelius
Was fantastic. We slummed it in the back of a van, cost fuck all. I enjoyed Kharkiv more in terms of the place though.
AlanSkÃrare
I think its sarcasm going off his previous posts. Alan was a big critic of Pardew's Europe scapegoating. Still livid I didn't go to Bruges or Bordeaux. Away games in the Championship is one the best things I've ever done. I'd imagine Europe adds another dimension. Spoke to a Bordeaux fan the other day, Swede who's moved down there. Said our fans looked to enjoy ourselves more than any other team that's come there despite losing 3-0. Also said Gouffran was progressing well when we took him and is the most honest player you'll find and that Obertan should not play professionally. They were shocked when Manchester Utd came for him. Slim
Hopefully get more of the same next year. Dont give a fuck how it effects us in the league. Not going to win a cup or get champions league so more of the same next year please.

Not going to win a cup or get champions league so more of the same next year please. Exactly. I've never been to an away game (reserves at Scarborough aside ), never mind a European one, but it's a special occasion being in Europe. Always feel like we've got a shot at going far n'all. We were fucking abysmal last season and got in the quarters, for goodness sake. Benfica were relatively comfortable, but we could've even nicked a much better result over there on another day. "Thank God we're not in the Europa League." Fucking dickhead, man.

Yorkie
Aye, I fully intend on doing an away game in the near-to-mid future, once I'm a bit more settled financially n that.

Lost 2-0 didn't we? Sorry to be a pedant Brugge fans said similar though. They said when Birmingham was there. There was quite a bit of damage to property and cars etc and a bit of bother. Don't get me wrong, I saw some fans being right twats on the walk. But most the Brugge fans I spoke to seemed to say the majority of us were friendly and liked to enjoy ourselves. They couldn't believe how much our fans drunk
