The classic style shirts Nike are pulling out look mint. Then again it is the stuff made by Umbro that they nicked before selling Umbro on. It really makes me want Nike as our shirt manufacturers now, a year or so ago they were making some of the horrible shit the likes of Adidas made, I.E. only goes well with a bottle of Lambrini in your hand.

They can't really do much wrong with their kit colours. Even a basic design like France's Nike kit in Roma colours will look good.

They've gone with Nike for the next 10 seasons fwiw. No more skin-tight Kappa shirts which should be good news for the average fan.

Buying and selling Umbro turned really out to be great for them, didn't it?

They got some great teams like England and also some players they didn't have before. Decent business.

Master stroke, didn't they also offload some of their debt onto Umbro as well?

Nike simply hire the best designers and they have a very forward thinking model. They also know what fans and people like - classic designs always sell.

The stuff they produced before they sold Umbro and shifted all the major contracts to Nike was pretty poor. All the have done is taken the designers from the 'Tailored in England' who worked for Umbro and kept them working for Nike. All the have done is bought the best designers.

They've been class stuff for Juve and Inter for ages.

bring back the Mitre Ultimax.

We had a lad who bought a proper one of those for about £50 and turned up with it to our Sunday league game, within the first ten minutes it had been launched into a thorn bush and popped.

 Remember seeing them for about £60 in First Sport on Northumberland St.

We used to use the cheapo version, the "Ultima".

I had a friend who would order one every year from the Eurosport catalog and then never want to use it. Would drive me nuts

I feel bad when my 2 for £5 footballs from SD pop. I don't think I could ever spend that much on a football.

Fair enough in you have a team playing regularly, but for the average casual user it's unlikely that you would have skills to be able to take much advantage out of using one of the official footballs.
