Monaco offered him a huge (tax free) wage. I think if his only motivation was money he'd have gone there. I think the Remy deal was different because according to the player he never wanted to leave Marseille and when he realised he was being pushed just plucked for the place offering the most money.

Exactly. And we finished 5th last season and got into Europe, there are all sorts of reasons. We have some class players as well.

 

A bad season doesn't instantly erase anything good about NUFC, despite what reading this forum might suggest at times.
