ExiledGeordie
People have mentioned about how Colo is helping MYM, but i think the same is the case vice versa. Colo has someone alongside him with a lot of speed, but not only that he's a lot more intelligent than Taylor or Williamson as well as his positional sense being a lot better. That can only help Colo as he moves into his latter years. Well put
henke
The fact that Colo doesn't have to worry about his CB partner dozing off or sticking his thumb up the CFs arse has to be a massive help.
Ronaldo
I do love Colo but his best days are behind him now and his levels certainly dropped last season. Still one of the better CBs in the PL, like.
TRon
I agree he's about reading the game but slowing up will still hurt him, he'll get tired sooner and pick up more injuries, that said reckon we may get 2 seasons out of him not just one more but we should be succession planning now Does anyone know how Curtis Good is performing? He looked very composed in the second half against Morecambe, but he's another cultured CB rather than the big stopper you'd ideally like to pair with Colo/Mbiwa. The College Dropout
Colo's performance last year was down to his "troubles" more than anyhing imo.
AlanSkÃrare
When was Colo bad last year? Arsenal at Emirates springs to mind, maybe Fulham away as well. But other than that? He was injured at parts of the start, had an absolutely monumental game in the derby (which we would have won had he not gone off), came back to captain us when we went on that half decent run from February until we played Southampton when he got injured (being superb at Kharkiv etc). Then came back again and saved us at West Ham and so on. Not on 10/11 or 11/12 form, but he wasn't bad. Also, playing in a terribly disoriented team with Williamson dragged him out of position all the time.

Still one of the better CBs in the PL, like. I honestly think that his levels dropped because of the San lorenzo thing and a couple of niggly injuries, could say exactly the same about Cabaye... Even at 90% Colo is way better than anything we are used to seeing at centre back

buzza
Tottenham away could be down to the fact Bale was unplayable at the time... Agree on Liverpool tho'
AyeDubbleYoo
Tottenham away could be down to the fact Bale was unplayable at the time... Agree on Liverpool tho' Nobody could have stopped us losing that match TBH, we were doing well until Bale remembered he can win any match on his own. Incognito
He got caught out by a long ball over the top on both occasions. He should have cut both balls out before they even got to said brilliant players.
NG32
Suarez gives every defender a hard time no matter what level they are at or who they play for. Suarez is a night mare to defend against. To close and he can spin you or drawer a foul.. Stand off and he can skin you alive, go left or right...or even meg. Colo had a hard time but other defenders have it just as bad with Suarez. Guest icemanblue
He got caught out by a long ball over the top on both occasions. He should have cut both balls out before they even got to said brilliant players. Taylor dropped a bollock at Tottenham. Left Colo (with his lack of pace) high and dry with his non challenge on Adebayor IMO. Can't really be bothered to argue the toss as it was discussed thoroughly at the time. Yep, you're absolutely right. I see no other alternative than to issue you with a . It's yours to keep. Congratulations!
Incognito
For anyone to say that Colo wasnt out of position for either of those goals is frankly absurd. Yes Taylor contributed to the Bale goal but Colo was still too high up the pitch.
AyeDubbleYoo
Anyway, I don't think it represents a long-term decline in Colo, he's still fantastic.
AlanSkÃrare
Anyway, I don't think it represents a long-term decline in Colo, he's still fantastic. Exactly. Not really an alarming slide. He had a mare against WBA (2-3) and Spurs (0-5) in 11/12 as well. When we defend too hight he's vulnerable because of his lack of pace. That will always be the case. Mapou rectifies a lot of that. Gallowgate Toon
One bad game and this lad's straight back in the really bad books? He'd been woeful today but was the pick of the bunch for the last 4 games or whatever.
