Had a canny World Cup in 2002 and apparently agreed to sign for Inter Milan (yes, Inter fucking Milan!) but failed a medical so took the next logical step and joined another Italian team in the Champions League West Ham United. He did finally get to play for a team in a cultured European city when he signed for sunderland in 2003 before seeing out his days with Wolves and Barnet.
