When you consider that Swansea finished 7th last season then it shows that with a half decent squad you can still have a very good season, but you need a good manager who has a squad which is tailored to his preferred style of play. We have neither.

Although we previously finished 5th.

Technically there's nothing stopping Ashley spending the whole new TV money allocation on players or at least  a large proportion of it. I wouldn't mind if he was still looking for value in the market, what would be wrong is not buying the 2/3 players that would see us having a decent season (top 6-8) without too much angst or fear...

Even replacing the squad  players we have lost would be handy

That would be a start.

I'd like another creative player for when Hatem needs a rest/inj and another forward bare minimum. We could give it a go with that..

Yes in revenue, in debt, in anything you care to use to measure it. We're the 20th richest club in world football and the 6th richest in England in terms of revenue. We are also guaranteed at least 25 million pounds extra tv revenue in the next twelve months which will propel us up that world table.

Down to luck and last season was bad luck. He's got the tools for a top 8. Let's hope he does it.

Yes, but we have over £100m in debt and up until a couple of years ago were losing £30m+ a year. That's a fact isn't it? So either we need affordable debt sources or Ashley needs to use his own money.

Come on fella's it's the exact same argument as yesterday, just in a different thread.  You two are never going to agree over it, so maybe just let it go.

Facepalm explaination: Basically Swansea have had one good year under Laudrup, finished 7th. We had our good year under Pardew finished 5th. He then went on to fail last season.

We don't know how Laudrup will get on this season yet but Pardew has proved as well with a 'half decent squad you can still have a good season' but everyone is in sort of agreement he isn’t a good manager which makes the original point incorrect (you need a good manager), if it is to believed he is in fact poor.

Or the club could spend its own money instead of being used to repay the debt. You said yesterday it was unacceptable for him to be withdrawing his debt, now you're saying it's fine.

hold on, are you saying ashley should let his 100m+ just ride like?

Probably not, but serves the cunt right for not doing the due diligence when he bought us.

Fat cunt.

It's his fault why he has the debt in the 1st place.

No it's not.  He didn't do due diligence, only absolute idiots would spend 125M on a business and not actual see any of the books.
