Just seen our line up against Italy and that is f*cking awful.

We will go nowhere with dinosaurs like Stuart Pearce in charge of our youngsters, where size and strength will always be favoured over skill and teams will always be set up "not to lose" and nicking one off a set-piece.

We're up against a strong technical side, so Pearce just abandons our best technical players and plays a team that looks set-up for direct football with a target man and crossers. How exciting.

Is this competition the reason England doesn't really take the U20 World Cup seriously? There's a few in this England squad eligible for the U20's, seems like a lot more important youth tournament than this.

Won the ball, ref.

Same old England.  Unable to maintain possession or territory.

Bit thick that lads.  Shambles from Butland and Clyne 15 minutes into the tournament.

Shelvey unable to control a ball and take a shot.  Bright future.

Clyne loves a long hoof straight to their defence or keeper.  Proper Simpson of a right back.

Italian player getting on his Busquets after a pretty clumsy Shelvey tackle.

My conclusion, he's fine, but Shelvey is a clumsy oaf.  Probably made it because he's 2 foot taller and 2 yards faster than everyone at his school.
