I'm sick of second-guessing the fat cunt in charge now, but my guess is it's either that he's there to undermine the manager because the owner wants shifted of him but won't pay him off, or he's actually still fairly enamoured by the manager and is trying to take the heat off him. Ive heard more stuff recently questioning him and our play. I remember Pardew saying this summer that the squad was good enough to cope with league, FA cup and league cup. He also said before the City game that we have a strong squad in good shape. He only talks about new signings and squad weakness when he is under pressure, it's an excuse and diversion tactic. He constantly contradicts himself.
