ponsaelius
We've looked good going forward, but our defence is going to be the downfall. Still need to get rid of the Coyle deadwood Is Wheater one of those?

Still need to get rid of the Coyle deadwood Is Wheater one of those? Him, Matt Mills and Tim Ream. We have Zat Knight too but he was a Megson signing. Really isn't a good combination of centre-backs

Really isn't a good combination of centre-backs Tbf a championship level that's a decent enough pool of defenders if coached correctly. There will be lesser defenders who'll be integral who will be in the promotion chase this season.
jukeboxromeo
True, but since Coyle didn't bother with defensive or fitness training, things were particularly ugly. Took Freedman and his team a few months to get them back to a competent standard.

Disco
Trippier, Burnley RB, has been impressive. Looks like he could play at a higher level.
jukeboxromeo
Yeah, he's probably the best right-back in the Championship.

Guest bimpy474
Watching Burnley play nice decent passing football, they lack something up top in losing Charlie Austin, still playing some nice stuff. Sean Dyche was a proper banger of a footballer, no nonsense CB. You wonder how managers like Pardew with his way of playing the game (hopefully changing), gets decent jobs. And someone like Dyche who obviously wants his team to play nice stuff, who wont get near a decent job. I'd rather have someone like Dyche than Pardew. The new type of managers are much more passing and movement types.
jukeboxromeo
Burnley fans have been moaning about the style of football they've played since Dyche arrived. It's been dreadful long-ball stuff for the most part under his tenure.

Why, watching this, and catching a few last season. They look decent. They've been the better side today imo. Your goal was much better mind.
David28
The wife reckons someone on Sky earlier said the pre-season bookies' favourites haven't won the Championship in 18 years. Surely we were favourites in 2009? Or was it West Brom? Think it was West Brom, we were still in turmoil on and off the pitch. Aye, we were sort of favoured by some to go down again. Ketsbaia
QPR XI: Green; Simpson, Onuoha, Hill, Traore, Barton, Henry, Faurlin, Hoilett, Zamora, Johnson. Subs: Murphy, Dunne, Suk-Young, Wright-Phillips, Austin, Jenas, Derry. If they keep that squad they're going straight back up!
