Kanj
Thank fuck this hunch back has returned. Think he put in a professional shift. We've missed him badly. Stay fit please.
Leazes_End_Mag
Makes such a difference having a proper defender there - this is the first time Rafa has been able to play an actual left back, he'll be hoping that hamstring holds up... He was still s***, was completely skinned at one point, fortunate not to lead to a goal. Whatever division we play in next year an upgrade for LB is sorely needed. Some people are never happy. One mistake apart, he was solid and far better than anyone else whos played there lately.
TRon
He's a defender who's usually good at defending. End of discussion. Pretty much. We've seen that with defenders who look great in every other department and then compensate by pumping fists or punching walls just recently.
loki679
Thought he made a big difference to the defence along with the absence of Captains Colo and Fistpumps. We looked a lot more solid with a proper defender there and, as Ron said, he came inside and covered very well when the ball was on the other side. Hopefully him, Lascelles and Mbemba can stay fit for the rest of the season because they've looked our best bet so far.

Yep, thought he did an exceptional job with his defensive duties today except on one occasion when he got schooled by a very clever flick. Sure, he's not going to whip in the coss for the match-winning goal, but he's solid and reliable which is exactly what we need at the moment
Heron
He's a defender who's usually good at defending. End of discussion. But he cannot score or create goals so must be shit! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
thomas
He isn't - and likely won't ever be - great but he did a good job yesterday. Still stares at the ball like it's talking to him before he kicks it though. Sent from My Butt using My Butt
The College Dropout
Real defender. Cares about the club. Makes us so much stronger as someone said, is basically a third CB when defending from the right. Wins headers.
AyeDubbleYoo
He is what he is, solid-ish defender but not really a fullback in the normal PL sense of the word. At the moment I'm incredibly happy he's back though, he's infinitely better than the alternatives. If he hadn't got injured we probably would have another 6 points or so. Just checked: 21 points from 18 games Dummett started, 1.17ppg 7 points from 15 he missed, 0.47ppg Suggests we would be in a much better position had he stayed fit. John P
Good to have him back, makes such a difference having a full back who can actually defend. Like others have said, he's not going to beat a man and whip in a brilliant cross, but he's exactly what we need at full back at the minute - solid and going to give his all. Don't think he was s*** at all tbh - Colback at LB against the mackems was s***, Anita playing there at Southampton was s*** and who can forget Aarons against Chelsea - Dummett is just solid but unspectacular. Solid is stretching it a bit, the guy is just plain average, he's the Mike Williamson of left backs, serviceable on occasion but will never take you anywhere, we let a far better player go, with a much higher ceiling just over a year ago for practically nothing. I agree though he is a lot better than the non left backs that he's had to put back there recently. Santon a FAR better player? Haven't watched him since he left but based on his performances for us that's a bit of a stretch. Think you might be letting Santon's perceived pedigree affect your judgement on that. xLiaaamx
He can actually cross. It just has to be first time as he can't move with the ball.

As much to do with how awful the alternatives are of course, but demonstrates Dummett's importance for right now.
