Shak
Ireland beating Romania on penalties at Italia 90. First football memory, must have watched the shootout hundreds of times.
Disco
Ronaldo's retribution in the 2002 final. Don't think I've ever been so ecstatic for any player. Did he break a record v Ghana when he sat the keeper down and scored the most Ronaldo goal ever? Can see that goal in mind without even watching it. Vinny Green Balls
van der Sar diving when Ortega made minimal contact in the 98 quarterfinals, and the subsequent red card. Poetic justice if there ever was. That odious little prick fully deserved it, and for Argentina to lose in such a painful way with that Bergkamp wonder goal at the death. Fucking brilliant. mickthemagpie
Surprised nobody has mentioned Peru v Scotland 1978. Still got a scar on me knuckle from when the 4th goal went in. Bloody Artex!

Disco
Having given it some proper thought: WC94: Albert's obscenely good goal Letchkov's diving header Packy Bonner throwing Wim Jonk's shot in his own net Water(bottle)gate WC98: Batigol showing the Reggaeboyz no mercy Blanc kissing Barthez's head - iconic Iran v USA hanging out with some carpet WC02: Hakan Sas WC06: Esteban Cambiasso Maxi Rodriguez WC10: San Martin Palermo Tshabala's ridiculous goal in the first game WC94>WC98>miles ahead over the others so far. Vinny Green Balls
Cubillas was a brilliant player. One of the best ever strikers of the ball.

Incognito
Surprised nobody has mentioned Peru v Scotland 1978. Still got a scar on me knuckle from when the 4th goal went in. Bloody Artex! Ally McLeod holding his head in his hands during the draw with Iran. Agree about Cubillas, great player.
henke
I'm not irish, i'm english. But i come from irish grandparents on both sides and i've always followed the boys in green during the world cup. Penalties vs Romania in Genoa, 1990. Then Robbies injury time equaliser against the germans in2002. In fact Matt Hollands equaliser against Cameroon was special also. And England, the comeback against Cameroon in 1990 and the semi against the germans. When Gary Lineker interviews Sir Bobby and they talk about that game i get quite emotional, because they both believed that was the world cup final. Argentina would have been a formality. triggs
World cup 02. Keane last minute goal vs Germany. Watching at school on a shit TV. We could've got to a world cup semi that year and without our best player.
Ketsbaia
Those two minutes in the Uruguay vs Ghana game were so dramatic. Shout out goes to Martin O'Neill insulting Robbie Williams on BBC in '98.
