Newcastle Utd 0 - 0 West Ham Utd - 24/08/13 - post-match reaction from page 41

A lot would argue this (without Cabaye) is our most productive midfield. Guess what, it produces f*** all.

Midfield isn't really the issue its the shit shower of a final third which is the problem and has been for ages.

And who the hell is responsible for creating chances in the final third?

Midfield and strikers don't operate as separate units. Both are responsible for opening up chances.

I agree with MT. It's the inability of the strikers to link that's holding us back.

We've created not one decent chance in 45 minutes, man. Do you think that might indicate a problem against West Ham at home?

We actually look like a functioning football team today, not brilliant but much better.

Is this ironic?

We have no clue what we are doing  No movement, have we even had a clear cut chance?

Firt homegame of the season and we are as bad as we have ever been

We've passed it about, we've moved decently off the ball for once. Yes, we've struggled to break them down.

Our movement is when we have the ball in our own half, when we go forward it is nothing.

Yes, we can also pass the ball, but create nothing with it....

If functioning doesn't involve creating a chance within the box.

malfunctioning as opposed to non functioning- Its progress.

f*** sake Shola we had 5 up, why would you let that go out for a corner???

Cos he'd never find them with any kind of pass / cross?

Marveaux was 5 yards away, should've laid it off on edge of area
