The expectations from the club in their own statement announcing the sacking was to survive relegation, they are just about managing that at present - don't see what he's done wrong personally.

If anyone deserves any sort of chance to finish the season, it's him.

0 league goals in 2017 is not managing it, everyone below them is showing something while their form is as bad as it gets.

Aye, they are even worse than sunderland by a good distance at the moment.

They've played only two home league games in 2017 which were against the two most in-form sides in the league (Chelsea and Man Utd).

They'll score goals and win games at home which will keep them up (similar to Burnley).

If anyone around the bottom went through a phase of 4 away matches & 2 home games against two of the best sides in the league, they'd be out of form too.

Puts things into perspective when we get criticised for wanting Pardew out several seasons later when he got us to 5th

"Deluded Geordies"

I basically never agree with sackings at other clubs after that. I want them all to fucking suffer.

Like Hull have......

Also they got tortured in a 6 pointer vs Swansea in their last league game.

Hul's run of decent form started with a home game against Bournemouth, something I've just pointed out Leicester haven't had - an easy(ish) game at home.

As I said earlier, which you cant comprehend. Their home form will keep them up, they have a good run of home games coming up before the end of the season that would have kept them up comfortably with Ranieri in charge.

I think it's debatable about that tbh, simply because of how bad they've looked in the league.  They looked clueless both at the back and both upfront which is a terrible combination, though they did play better 2nd half yesterday.

They've clearly got an appointment lined up as the timing is odd.

Saw on twitter talking about Mourinho's sacking at chelsea after winning the league now this, obviously very different (Mou is kinda an overrated dick anyway) but both from player power out of control. When Wenger leaves pretty much every manager in the league can be sacked by their dressing room. Ludicrous and not going to lead to any great european success at least.

They could have went down and he'd have got them up straight away. Clough took Forest down and no one thinks any less of him.

Completely different context and era though.

....and Clough in the dusk of his career after winning 2 European Cups for them - no comparison at all.

A sign of the times....clubs are DESPERATE to stay in the PL and keep picking up the TV dosh.....

We will be in just as much turmoil if we fail to go up this season - hopefully we won't have to find out if that is true.

Did managers not used to get sacked when teams got relegated/were in danger of being relegated? You literally just do not survive these days. If you're in the bottom five for longer than a couple of weeks, chances are you're getting sacked.

If you support the sacking, then basically you are not in the camp of “you need a great manager to build up your club statue in long run aka the Ferguson works”.

No fucking way.  What Leicester should do is the opposite.  Support the manager, flush out the rotten players after relegation, and let Ranieri to rebuild again.  Afterwards no players would disrespect Ranieri and thats the real beginning of long term success.

Does sacking Ranieri help to retain the players now? Obviously fucking no. If thats the case, rebuild is the only option then why not let the one with most credit to do it?

This is a very short-sighted sacking.  Exactly what we did to Sir Bobby and Leicester deserve to relegate and enter their dark era for this ridiculous decision.  Relegation is not the worst outcome.  Sinking without trace and direction is.

Depends if you think Ranieri is a great manager.

Letting Sir Bob go wan't the problem, getting the right replacement was.

The timing and manner of letting Bob go was the problem, and after that getting in the wrong replacement was a new problem.

Definitely, for me Robson should have been edged out or up in that Summer.

Utter joke - he took a team of complete no-hopers to the title by TEN points and they bin him nine months later and they're in with a decent chance of reaching the last eight of the Champions League and he still has 1/3rd of the season to keep them where they are which is above the bottom three!

A relegation three of this lot, Sunderland and Palace would be delicious especially if that dancing tosser gets this job!

It doesn't matter what he did, it's where he's at now. Clearly the issue is with the players as a managers job depends on those on the pitch and if they want rid, they play poorly possibly deliberately. The same situation has even happened here in the past.

Thats exactly why the club should support the manager instead.

Cheaper to replace one guy.
