It seems like in those circumstances they also expect success, which is the part that looks like it'll be his downfall

I think they want to see the assets they've bought appreciate which means CL. Ultimately the expenditure they have means that's par for them.

Didn't Maresca also tell them he was actively talking with Citeh as well?

For manager performance you only really need to see the net spend during the tenor and the wage bill. Forn will fluctuate but for performance some form of mean reversion is expected

I think Chelsea's spend can't be questioned, but the manager would probably like some more experience in his squad. Might be if Maresca had some to call on it could have translated to trophies.

Yeah and I'd be shocked if he managed that consistently. Far too competitive a league these days.

If they are going to continually invest massive amounts id expect them to be always in the mix tbh. Arsenal fly under the radar for this but this is what they've been doing since Arteta and it's seen them get closer and closer. Obviously arsenal aren't so rigid in buying inexperience mind but being competent should be enough for a Chelsea. They don't even need to be good as they've shown these last 12 months.

We'll see. Having a good squad rarely overrides having a bad manager imo.

Absolutely we will, I guess my point is he doesn't need to be good competent should be enough  5 CL places up for grabs.

I think they system they have is too rigid but that being said Maresca isn't anything more than competent imo and he dug his own grave.

What big egos at Chelsea? Rosenior is as well known as Maresca was pre-Chelsea.

Rosenoir might make it to the end of the season at best. Screams "caretaker".  Might do enough to get a permanent appointment, but wille be Roedered out the door the second a slightly better option looks available

Just think Maresca did a solid job with little experience or brand name and Rosenior is similar.

People think of Chelsea as the Abramovic era. Big players big ego's, need to win. It's a new day.

They've spent a fortune, even more so than they did Under the russian. With that comes expectations. The model maybe different but I don't think for a minute expectations have dampened.

The expectations have definitely changed. The game is developing players and selling them.

They sold Madueke after spending 2.5 years developing him into an England international and becoming a consistent player. Replaced him with 20 year old Gittens.

Not a single player over 28 getting minutes. Most of the team is 25 or younger.

Chelsea do not intend on winning the PL and such. If that were the intention, they wouldn't have hired Maresca in the first place.

Poch left because he didn't like the direction the ownership wanted. Maresca has largely left for the same reason.

Chelsea want a competent stooge who will shut up, put cones out, develop players and secure regular CL football. Rosenior will get the job becasue he's done the first 3 already at BlueCo France.

Was referring to fan expectations. I agree 100% the club expect CL on a monthly basis this was the basis of discussion with with @Kid Icarus

Feels a bit strange to persist with Amorim for so long and sack mid-season.

A lot of reports that the relationship broke down recently as he felt he wasn't being backed. Not sure how he can think that to be honest.

I think we were threatening something good but every opportunity we had to move up the table we lost or drew in games we should have won.

Sad to see him go but don't think he can have any complaints.
