triggs
He's not been brilliant in ages and anything he adds to the league is for people who prefer media built controversy to actually watching football He’s won silverware far more recently than Rafa, who all but the biggest morons among us would agree is a brilliant manager. A lot of not brilliant managers have won silverware more recently than Rafa. Bit of a difference between managing Newcastle Utd and Man Utd. Not a very good comparison
ToonArmy1892
The sad thing is, he might finish 5th and fluke a Carabao Cup win and he’ll be lauded for it even though Spurs have been finishing top 3/4 and reached a CL Final. Yes because it's about winning trophies, no good getting to finals and losing is it.

Disco
He’s the manager version of Ibrahimovic now imo. Aye, was thinking that the other day. Two massive dullard twats who got boring years ago. Yes you were class and still have talent but give it a fucking rest.
Guest
Think he’s struggled handling ‘millennials’ too. Players 30 year old and under today, I’m not sure his man management skills are up to handling these.
Guest Howaythetoon
Might just be the right job at the right time for Jose and indeed Spurs, I think Poch is a great manager/coach though. I do like Jose mind, he needs to get back to being an innovative progressive coach and not the miserable dinosaur he’s become the last few years. He’s a trophy machine though and I’d put money on Spurs winning something under him, they have a very good nucleus of players and have been underperforming for a while now. Their CL fun/final was more akin to Monaco’s a few years back than say Liverpool back in 2005/beyond.
Guest
Daniel Stendel apparently taking over at Hearts in the summer, Austin McPhee until then. Pretty good appointment that.

Players 30 year old and under today, I’m not sure his man management skills are up to handling these. I think with Mourinho it's about the type of players. Think Spurs have a decent number of physical and athletic players. I think it will be a really good fit for him int hat sense. I think the issues will arise off the pitch between himself and Levy when he wants to start bringing in players that share the same agent as he does. Yes, he has also won multiple other trophies.

Guest
So Juande Ramos too? Bollocks man. Like saying Dalglish would have been better than Keegan if he’d won the FA Cup.
Mr Logic
Whole 40+m press conference on Youtube. Much more cheerful than the man who left Man Utd, this enforced break may have just reinvigorated him. I think he's going to do ok. Opened classily with a statement about how good Poch had been, contrast that with Bruce's constant whining about Rafa.

Mr Logic
Also @ around 26m a question asks what he intends to change, Jose answers very little, it's not that Poch has done wrong, it is to add to the base that has been here for 5 years, maybe a little plus. (paraphrasing) Again, contrast that with Bruce. Even though that is essentially what he has reverted to he complains about the past whenever it may serve as an excuse. If the titanic didn't hit the ice berg it wouldn't have sank. George Graham and Juande Ramos are winners, Poch isn't. Dalglish is a winner, Keegan isn't. It's about winning trophies when you manage a team that expects them, no ifs buts or maybes
Guest
Ok, it’s like saying Souness is a better manager than Keegan.
Mr Logic
Jose says "If we win a trophy it is not a consequence of ME, it is of the consequence of the club vision, the club plan for years" (paraphrasing again). That's us fucked then, as if we didn't know. The club plan is to stay afloat clinging to a bit of driftwood.

Paully
He seemed like the old Mourinho in his press conference - he's been a big miss from the Premier League and I can see him doing very well there unfortunately! Hopefully, his record at SJP doesn't change though!

triggs
Give me the Keegan years over a Carling Cup win anytime. Aye obviously. Winning is overrated. Who is remembered more fondly, the Blackburn team of the mid 90s or the Newcastle team of the mid 90s?
loki679
Richard Keys Been told time & again today ‘Mourinho doesn’t get @SpursOfficial DNA’. Yes he does. We all do - pretty football & finishing 3rd or 4th - occasionally 2nd. He’s not there to do that - he’s there to win. You needed Eddie Howe if you wanted pretty. Richard Keys agrees with you and you think that's a good thing
