Does anyone know of a toon friendly bar in Tenerife? I watched Monday nights game surrounded by evertonians who were largely bell ends.

Is Lineker's still there? A few years back now but was a decent toon crowd in when I was there.

                              Krul

Debuchy      Saylor        Colo      Santon

                    Anita        Cabaye

HBA                  Sissoko              Remy

                          Gouffran

Swap Cabaye and Sissoko around and that's what I'd go with.

100% agree

Me too except stick with Mapou.

Newcastle's Vurnon Anita admits the Premier League table makes worrying reading for the Geordies' staff and fans.

Alan Pardew’s men are just three points above the relegation zone after consecutive league defeats, ahead of Saturday’s tough-looking trip to top flight new-boys Cardiff.

Less than two months into the season, Anita reckons Toon are already into must-win territory.

The former Ajax midfielder views the trip across the border to face Malky Mackay’s Bluebirds like a Champions League encounter.

Anita said: “The table looks worrying now. It’s a must-win game. It’s like a Champions League match for us, because it’s so important.

“We must give it our all because you can’t under-estimate anyone in this league.”

Pardew was fuming after Newcastle blew a chance of gate-crashing the top four in a humbling home loss to Hull last month.

That shock 3-2 defeat to another of the Premier League newcomers and Monday night's first-half horror-show at Everton - where they were three down inside 40 minutes before a failed comeback - have hit confidence hard.

Anita knows Newcastle must pick themselves up quickly as they must tackle Liverpool, arch-rivals Sunderland, Chelsea and Tottenham in the next month.

The 24-year-old added: “A couple of weeks ago, we were doing very well and people were talking about us. Now we’ve lost two games and must recover and show the real Newcastle.

“We’ll do much better against Cardiff. The real Newcastle is the team of the second half at Everton – not the first half.”

False rumours swept Tyneside this week that Pardew had offered to resign in the wake of the Goodison Park surrender.

But Anita insists the squad are 100 per cent behind the Toon boss.

The manager will ring the changes against Cardiff, recalling Yohan Cabaye and Mike Williamson in a bid to tease a 90-minute performance from his Jekyll and Hyde troops.

Anita added: “It is not just about the manager, it’s about the whole team. We all want to win and to do that, we must improve.

“To get rid of that inconsistency we’ll go back and watch what we did wrong and improve on it in training.”

They're a strong team, does anyone really expect us to win there etc.

Well, no... not with our away record at least. :D

Think as Ron said, if we sit deep and stay compact you would hope they would struggle to break us down and providing Remy's fit, we do have the speed for an effective counter attack.

I think they'll be very conscious of the fact that they won't have too many wins this season and will see us as a real chance of getting 3 points. I'd rather that than them sitting deep and watch us ponce about without any penetration.

Ron's bang on. We should go there with the remit of being a proper counter-attacking side, draw them out and then hit them with our speed. Playing in that style is the best we've looked over the last couple of seasons, we've got a good side for it.

It's quite wrong that this game is massive so early in the season. They'll want it more than us too which is very worrying. I just hope we have the right tactics, personnel and attitude on Saturday...

This lot have a scored a few from set pieces non?

2 v City wasn't it?

And the first v Fulham.

Doesn't bode too well does it!

Man City have some big lads and Fulham have Hangeland & Berbatov (if he counts..) and Cardiff still scored.

Really don't think we can let Tiote play coz of the FKs he'll give away.
