r0cafella
That is indeed a horrible thought. Our buy lots of Frenchies wasn't an ideal strategy but buying English is much worse IMO. Why can't the club take a balanced approach ffs
TRon
http://www.thejournal.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mike-ashley-gives-assurances-over-7051134 As much as I never think it will happen, but theoretically imagine how grim it is if Ashley actually finally spends money, and it's pardew who oversees it. Could set us back years realistically. Hence why it's paramount we get rid of pardew and concentrate on Ashely afterwards Absolutely this - The point has now been reached where significant investment is unavoidable without severe consequences. It would be catastrophic for this to be overseen by a nugget like him. Investing in a decent manager and giving him the funds to do what is required would finally be a massive step in the right direction. Of course, all of this will not happen for all the obvious reasons. It's huge IMO. If pardew fucks it up you can be sure that MA won't be spending again. This is really pivotal I feel. Pardew has already fucked up, players like Cabaye and Remy have/will leave because ultimately they want to play for ambitious clubs with a good manager. The same will happen next season if Pardew is allowed to spend money. Does anyone really think players like Colback and Shelvey are going to see us challenging for Europe again? But according to the articles in this thread, Ashley wants to further improve on our top 10 position by investing more on players than any other club outside the top 4. Is that going to happen with Pardew as manager and his buy-not-quite-top-class English players policy?

Disagree he has changed a few things, one of the biggest changes is Di Maria in the middle which has been a godsend for them. Bale for all his numbers until the Barca cup final hadn't really impacted a big game to any meaningful level, its a bit short sighted to say " they have Ronaldo and Bale". Hughesy
Interesting but not surprising from the Secret Footballer/Dave Kitson when asked about Moyes: "Newcastle is the perfect club for Moyes, Ashley doesn't want to spend anymore money than he has to and Moyes has been doing that at Everton for ten years while getting the best out of the players he has, something which Pardew is failing to do. I have heard that the Newcastle players are absolutely fed up of the 'Pardew show', so I wouldn't be surprised to see Moyes rock up at St James at all." I know! I was mocking the whole manager is blameless movement we're seeing from a lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter etc. Interesting that even the best player in the world feels the manager makes a difference. Thanks for thinking so little of me Mole. Very flattering.

Does anybody here seriously doubt that there has to be some truth in this when the like of Gosling and Shola are starting while Marveaux and Hatem have been frozen out? Cabaye has left and Remy and Debuchy will leg it at the first opportunity. No decent footballer will waste his time playing for this fuckwit.
