Everybody knows all Brexit Jim is doing is streamlining the club. Making it more efficient and a better proposition for when he, and his INEOS, finally buy out the Glazers......er.......oh, hang on.......fuck!!!!

Blackburn, champions in 95, relegation in 98

Was a big drop off in the immediate seasons too.

Bombed a Champions League group of Legia Warsaw, Rosenborg and Sptk Moscow and were midtable in the PL 95/96 (previously been 4th, 2nd, 1st)

Were in a relegation battle as early as 96/97.

Marseilles were champions of Europe when demoted to the second tier on technicalities (well bribery charges)

Does that not count as that European cup was taken away from them?

I thought it was initialy but at some point it seems to have became canon again - and the stripping never gets mentioned

I think the major difference now (due to finances) is that there is generally such a gulf within the top divisions that no established elite club should should really find itself in the bottom half, let alone close to the relegation zone.

It takes incredible mismanagement to get in that situation. And Man Utd are a fantastic example of that.

“Stingy Jim Ratcliffe's desperate cost-cutting measures at Manchester United continue to reach new lows.

Not content with hundreds of redundancies, raising ticket prices and scrutinising every club purchase, from vegetables to sellotape, now he's come, at long last, for the freebies.

Charities linked to the club, who previously received free tickets to home matches, were informed by email yesterday that the Man Utd Foundation would no longer be covering the expense.

Given that charity tickets are rather limited in the first place, it's a particularly Scrooge move, even for Sir Jim.”

The European Cup wasn’t stripped off them at any point - their French title was, though; that was the competition they were caught cheating in

That a mansion? Don't get me wrong most of us would love a place that big but that falls a bit short of mansion to me.

Evanilson VAR red card rescinded. Feels very unfair given it handed Man Utd a point. What a mess!

Am sure the PL are currently exploring every possible avenue to ensure Bournemouth's rescinded red card can be used to exempt Man Utd from PSR rules

Given the current situation, feel he would have been better renting.

Given his performances he knows he’s going to be at Man Utd another 3 years seeing out his massive contract.

There’s a loan move Galatasaray calling his name.
