He did clarify. Obviously Man United aren't going bust. We were in danger of running out of cash though, as he clarified.

And yes, the biggest club in the league had the third highest net spend*

*that's if you don't include the sell-on fees for Elanga, Carreras etc. The Sancho fee from Chelsea, the £38m obligation for Hojlund and the almost certain £26m incoming for Rashford, which would bring the net spend down to £80m, less than Newcastle, Forest, Leeds, Sunderland, Everton etc.

Again, our window was very modest.

I simply said that your owners words was that you were in danger of going bust, and when I give you hard evidence of him using that word you, still deny it. You said that he didn't say "bust". He literally did. No brain gymnastics changes that.

I'll go out on a limb and say our weekly wage budgets will be within £200/300k.

Fair play.

Anything above that renders any subsequent victories and/or higher league placings versus NUFC, null and void.

I didn't deny anything once you showed the video, I just mis-remembered exactly what he said, but knew that he meant cash, as he indeed clarified. Just a memory lapse from me is all. ;)

Anyone that thought Manchester United was going to fold, or indeed that Ratcliffe though that, needs their head checked.

 I'll happily finish below you for a couple of seasons as long as we're heading up the table.

Then why did he use the word "bust"?

Why 5 years? Why not just under INEOS? Wouldn't that be more fair?

When I bring up your spend since Saudi bought you, you all talk about Ashley and Bruce to justify it. So why the hypocrisy?

Okay lets do since INEOS arrived. Then you are second, less than €3m behind Arsenal with the highest net spend.

Love how people on here saying about Liverpool spending £400m but when it's for their own benefit it turns to net spend.

But aye, my point is how many failures under INEOS? Mind you people still use Pogba's fee in arguments so I imagine people will use Sancho and Antony for many years yet.

People make mistakes. At least he clarified it.

The only reason I talk about net spend is because you started talking about the income from sales when discussing your spending in the summer. I thought it would be generous to include the sales aswell, since you were so eager to include them. If I start posting the gross spending, you would go on about how it doesn't account for the sales.

"We spent a lot since we brought in money from sales!"

"Why are we using net spend instead of gross now?"

Make up your mind @Froggy

I like net spend. I've even defended Liverpool on here with it. It's you lot who pick and chose when to use it.

It's always gonna be easier for a Man Utd manager to turn things round as they vary rarely are forced to sell their best players. Ronaldo been the last one to the best of my knowledge.

Most big clubs are never forced to. I'd say that's historically true for many of them, even Newcastle.

Sure. Can't speak for others, but I never use gross personally.

Not as easy as that is it? You've spent £250m and are worse.

The squad is far superior now.

The players just need time and we've had really unfortunate injuries (wissa, livramento, hall, ramsey).
