I'm sure will Ronaldo will say his contacts in Manchester and his wife's family who are all season ticket holders.

I'm going based on conversations I've had with people across multiple supporters clubs on match days.

Last game I was at was Sunderland, just off the back of an awful result against Brentford and the support throughout the whole day was overwhelmingly positive for Amorim, but if you looked at RedCafe you'd think the entire fanbase hated him.

We can try and pretend like half this forum didn't want Howe out if you want as well. Like 70% of it doesn't think Elanga is shit. Half of it probably thinks Woltemade is better than Isak now.

Online fans are a different weapon entirely.

You never like when the negativity comes your direction.

It's true though, and I've posted about this before and shared multiple pages of the thread to show bad it was.

Can you imagine how you lot would be criticising Elanga if we had paid £55m for him and he was performing like this?

It's just how online forums go isn't it?

I don't like it when you blatantly lie, no. Half the forum didn't want Howe out, that's just demonstrable nonsense. The posters that outright wanted him out stuck out like a sore thumb.

As for Elanga, that's just showing how supportive we're being with him as a Newcastle player, if that's the case. We all want him to do well and most back him, that doesn't sound like how you speak about RedCafe.

I'm putting the kids to be here but I'll dig out the post I made recently enough to show that Howe was wanted out by a huge amount of posters. The thread was like a civil war after a particularly poor run.

If I'm to take the Elanga thread at face value as well, I wouldn't call it being supportive of him. Many have already given up on him.

I just don't think it's a good idea to make judgement based on online forums or opinions. RedCafe in particular breeds negativity. It's horrific. There's a big difference in real life when people can't hide behind an avatar.

Don't dig anything out man Froggy. Put the kids doon and pour yourself a drink. Watch Spurs losing. Lovely.

Your Elanga point is all over the place, you just said imagine how much we'd all be taking the piss out of Man United if he was performing like that for you,  the insinuation being that we're holding back ...now it's that many have given up on him.

I take your overall point re forums=supporters, but I think conflating N-O with RedCafe is a massive stretch, particularly as you're having to make stuff up (half the forum wanting Howe out) in order to try and make the comparison seem remotely plausible.

A lot of forums are really similar in my experience, but there are definitely some that stand out as being particularly bad for different reasons. RedCafe, RAWK and SixCrazyMinutes are all special cases - whether you take them as representative in the same way N-O and I think other forums largely are, is another matter.

I will find it. It was after the Chelsea defeat. It was bad on here.

I am probably being hypocritical as I see this forum as your fanbase but a lot of that stems from having met so many of you, and the vast majority have been level headed and sound.

Isn't it great how the thread was dead for a few weeks? All it takes is an away draw to get the blood pumping.

Can't wait for our next loss.

Nice for your kids to see their father for a bit, shame today’s draw meant their bedtime got sacked off

I only have experience with RAWK and the Forest forum. RAWK locks threads after defeats and deletes negative posts. The Forest forum was very hostile towards posters who supported a different team. Not just a few negative posts, it was overwhelmingly and exclusively negative reponses to posts that were careful, respectful, and balanced. It was very different from how we treat fans of other teams when they are coming in here with a respectful approach.

right after a defeat is not exactly a good indication. People kneejerk. The actual amount of posters who consistently wanted Howe out beyond a quick kneejerk reaction is a very loud few. And after the Cup win, probably about half of those decided that Eddie is an absolute legend and have stayed consistent since.

Yeah, and funnily enough I think Redcafe is generally quite reasonable and representative of a broad range of fans. Post-match comments from Redcafe are often mature and thoughtful - and authentic. There's a decent cross-section of fans and fan experiences - young & old, stupid and bright.

RAWK is awful, but also possibly quite representative. Arsenal-mania likewise. I tend to bracket them together, and have more time for Redcafe, GrandOldTeam and the West Ham one - KUMB. Redcafe even had its own pet Spurs fan for years (is he still on there?) Glastonspur.

Helps validate a long standing illicit feeling view of mine of Liverpool being worse than Man United

That might actually be a universal feeling, but it’s certainly the feeling of my generation.

I don’t mind not getting Sesko Pedro Ekitike etc

if there was one of the players we went in for that we could have gotten it would have been Mbeumo - was exactly what we needed, even more so since Isak left.
