What a disaster that appointment was  it was obvious from day 1 it would pan out like this

I am slightly sad they didn't give him £200m to waste in January on random portuguese guys.

Expand on this

He tried to outsource everything. Wanted to use external data companies for all his decisions and Ratcliffe was basically like, "well what's the fucking point of you then?" and sent him back to his garden.

Fair enough, explains why it was left to Mitchell to Hire Suds for us as well.

Also apparently he was too UK focused as well.

@Froggydo you reckon you go to appoint a new full time guy right away? Surely you can't let this drag until the summer and risk missing out on Europe?

I think you could bring in a dog and play 4-2-3-1 and this team easily makes Europe to be honest.

Sounds like they'll wait until the summer though.

Hmmm not sure about that  But I do agree the business you did in the summer snacks of 4231.

I guess this is bad news because they have a good squad that is capable of good football. I expect them to kick on from here. Despite the apparent political problems behind the scenes, a decent manager will look at those players and be unable to resist having a go.

Amorim was always a fan-type choice and Ratcliffe is a fan. It seemed to be based on the dream that he was going to be the next Mourinho or Guardiola. Maybe the guy has talent, but he never looked ready for a job as big and pressured as Man U.

This has been a disgrace really the last 18 months or so.

They make a whole song and dance about getting Ashworth making a significant compensation payment.

They then duck the chance to sack Ten Hag only to sack him a few months later any how.

They then decide to appoint Amorim as manager who Ashworth thinks will not be a good formation fit.

Because Ashworth did not back the appointment they sack him.

Amorim refuses to adapt formation even though the players aren’t suitable for it. Lead them to worst league performance in living memory.

They then suck the chance to replace him in the summer.

Provide basic improvement to squad in summer. Team actually show some green shoots of looking a bit better.

They then refuse to back recruitment that will allow Amorim to keep improving the team. Tell him to change system.

Amorim goes to the press. Gets sacked.

This is fucked up. Small time. Amateur.

In the way to complete collapse. Bankruptcy. League Two.

Fucking love it!

Not a bad shout actually.

Omar Berrada may have some connection with him.
