AyeDubbleYoo
I'm just glad we haven't lost anyone. Sigh, its the hope that gets you. There's always someone who will post this as we near the end of each transfer window....great stuff, the Ashley Dr Goebbels machine is running perfectly... Also - have you never heard of the saying 'Don't count your chickens..'. We are not at the 31st until Friday so you can't even make this point yet.... Can you make the point about not signing anyone yet?

Tiresias
Why would I not be surprised if JFK's transfer negotiations go like this (except not getting what we want at the end of it)
BlueStar
It's going to end up being "They knew we had xx million from the Cabaye deal so they were quoting stupid prices" or something, isn't it.
duo
They'll announce the deal at the 11th hour so we have "no time" to sign a replacement. Nudge, Nudge, wink, wink

Belfast Mags
This will end up like it did with PEA. He'll go on and have a great end to the season and will be beyond our reach in the summer. Is the correct answer

Joe_F
To get him now we'd have to pay over the odds and we know Ashley will never do that.
Unlucky Luque
Well we were never going to get him before selling Cabaye either way
alexthegreat
To get him now we'd have to pay over the odds and we know Ashley will never do that. True. That probably applies to almost any potential signing, unfortunately, seeing as everyone knows we've just trousered about £20m with 4 days left in the window. Nobody
We could just show them our summer spending and tell them we'd happily do it again if they are trying to take the piss.

Guest strongbow69
Isn,t it far too late to sign cabella as his club would have to pay 75% tax on excess profit as they wouldn't have time to spend it themselves and Ashley pays in a lump sum pile of steamin bullshit this. Teasy
Where did you get that from?
Guest strongbow69
Montpellier president said it amongst the bile and shit, add pardew saying target club may not be willing to sell and http://voiceofrussia.com/2013_04_02/France-s-football-clubs-to-pay-excess-profit-tax/ makes sense. Stifler
The tax only applies to employees salaries, selling Cabella now would have no impact on how much they get to keep.
Guest strongbow69
was just going off this , "On Tuesday, France’s Minister of Sports Valerie Fourneyron said that French football clubs will be also obliged to pay the 75% tax on excess profit." I don't think it's actually law, and there would be lots of legal issues surrounding it if it was enforced upon a club. Cooperate tax in France is 33%.
