The other games today - 2013/14

Paulinho finally gets a start. Can't believe it's taken this long to bench that Bentaleb kid. Sherwood must be having sex with him.

Must be three-ways with Lennon tbh - can't believe he's still getting games.

Btw, this is what a team completely devoid of tackle looks like. Going to be fun for the neutral.

If Spurs start well and have the right attitude then they should win. Events of the day make that an unknown though. :hmm:

If they can go down there and frustrate them, turn the crowd, then they could nick a point or even worse a win.

I bet the Brazil medical team will be loving having a fresh Paulinho for the World Cup.

Or a completely non matchfit Paulinho. He's going to be so important if we want to win, probably our best midfielder and does a lot of different things that is needed for the team to work.

Yeah, this. There have been some stupendously negative comments on our forums, so much so that I've had to remind people how bad Sunderland actually are. We should still expect to win, although an early goal for Sunderland will be awkward. We were 2-0 down against Southampton and still won, and they're actually quite good.

Don't know if you guys got the same footage we got there, but there was a shot in the tunnel with the Sunderland team lined up next to our mascots (we were still in the changing room). Looked like Sherwood really was taking the piss.

Nobody made the run there FFS.

Tbf, Lennon should've hit it back in the first place. The strikers didn't react once he held on too long, though

No, there was plenty of room in the middle if one of the strikers made the right move early enough. They both held off, which was a mistake.

The initial pass was definitely the cutback, Kane had space. The problem was both of them making the same run and not adjusting the run after Lennon kept it.

Spurs playing well here

Thing is, Sunderland really aren't very good, and most of our players actually are. We just don't have the shape and consistent gameplan/lineup to do well against the better sides. I'm not worried about our squad at all, just our manager.
