For all Kompany's organisation and leadership qualities ( didn't show it there mind ) he's very average a 1 v 1 defender....Isn't the first time he's cocked up like that and won't be the last. Kompany is much better than this, maybe carrying a donkey all season is making him worse than he is, but even last season he was nowhere near as good as the hype. Bloke is living on his rep from when City won the league.... hasn't performed to that level since then. And you can say "jesus christ" all you like but fact of the matter is there's multiple pieces of video evidence of him being done 1 v 1..... happens all the time in Europe and a lot more than any other "top defender". BrettNUFC Posted March 15, 2014 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Admit he wasn't in my team of the season so far but i basically picked Terry and Cahill because they've been an outstanding partnership this year, something Kompany hasn't had the luxury to have. Which of course isn't his fault. He was well short of his best last season but he's been much improved on that this season, even if injuries are slightly holding him back. Comfortably better than both Terry and Mertesacker and Koscielny and any other central defender playing in the Premier League. Even Steven Taylor.
